Mel's 10 month update

Greetings, It's been a long time since I've been on this forum, for those who don't know me I'm Melissa's other half. Melissa is a 34yr old woman diagnosed with MS back in 2007 (seems a lot longer than that!) had HiCy treatment in 2008 at Hopkins, relapsed in 2009 and had three stents placed by Dr.D...

I'm glad Mel was 'fixed' when she was, before the storm hit.

In 4 years she'll be 4 years and 7 months out and hopefully still fighting fit.

Four years in MS time is like 40 years in well people time.

A public THANK YOU to Dr. Dake

Lost in amongst all this hysteria a little is how much good Dr. Dake has done, how much he cares and has essentially stopped everything else going on to help MS patients. Being at the vanguard there are of course risks and ups and downs. It looks like its going to take a while now for those who were...

Some people will wait, some people won't.

We didn't and are glad we didn't but for others the procedure was nowhere near as straight forward.

Same with all MS treatments though, none are without risk.

Doing nothing is a risk in itself.

There's no right answer.

hahahah yeah.

Zamboni: The JK Rowling of Vascular Surgeons. If they were selling this at Walmart we'd all be there at midnight on camp chairs waiting for it to go on sale with our Zamboni official merchandise stethoscopes round our shoulders!

Note to users: This section contains peer reviewed, accepted articles to be published in the journal. When an article is assigned to an issue, the "Articles In Press" version will be removed from this section.

Makes sense I suppose.

Hahahha, who'd have thought we'd be signing up to the vascular journal email update system, anxiously awaiting a published paper.

Not me for sure!

It's fairly well known that too much sleep can give the same symptoms as not enough. I've felt it myself, during a brief period of unemployment (waiting for my US visa), I slept a lot but was more and more tired. There was a couple of recent studies if you google. Odd. Maybe you just need that amoun...

Of course that's caused by several variables, such as: o = Oil Density g = Gas Density re = Drainage Radius of Well rw = Well Bore Radius Ko = Effective Oil Permeability Uo = Oil Viscosity Bo = Oil Formation Volume Factor hp = Perforated Interval h = Oil Column Thickness But again in medical terms y...

Gici I respectfully disagree with specific regards to pipelines. I work on the design of oil pipelines, perhaps the analogy isn't correct but in a pipeline too high an input causes reduced flow. Which is why we need to calculate the critical flow rate. Perhaps this is specific to that technology and...
