Sorry Bob,
Just looked back at your post and realized my post was completely redundant. I take back my 2 cents. You said it all much more eloquently!! Damn my swiss-cheese brain.

My head is spinning right now from this discussion. Not difficult to happen after 22+ years of MS and as as many lesions in my brain, as functioning brain. But, before I lose my train of thought...I think everyone has a valid point. I tend to take people at their word (and get into trouble doing so)...

Until Opexa can figure out why people like Lew and Chris S. seemed to get worse from the vaccine, I wouldn't want to take the risk. BUT..I would have definitely taken the risk if I hadn't been allowed to get the Revimmune treatment. You were really fortunate to be fairly newly diagnosed and that see...

Hi Bob,

I'd be a little wary of encouraging my immune system to respond to anything in an even remotely similar way that it reacted to my own myelin.

I'm with you, Keri. I would be afraid that putting that diseased part back into me could potentially trigger the MS again. I think Tovaxin is a great start in targeting the MS specifically, but it seems that there are many questions to answer as to what is going on in the immune system of each indiv...

Yeah, but just one dose. I had a delayed allergic reaction 12 hours later. But, even after that one dose I felt a remarkable difference in my fatigue level and improvement in walking. Of course, I was still walking pretty normally at that time, anyway. I couldn't walk for miles, but definitely for m...

Lew, You said you had many active lesions in your last MRI. It seems to me, that whether you've had MS 7 years or 1 year, if you're provided with an effective drug to inhibit the inflammatory response, the body will be allowed to repair the myelin and return function. I have been really disheartened...

Hi Lew,
Don't count Tysabri out of your possible choices. I've seem many people do remarkably well on it. If I weren't allergic to it, I'd probably be on it today.

Hi Jane,
No, they never accepted me. They said they couldn't divert resources to Compassionate User status. As I had MS for 22 years, I was well over the time limit.

Hi, I had HiCy and even though I am 22 years into this disease I have gotten a lot of function back. Still, I was beating down the doors at Opexa trying to get Compassionate User status for Tovaxin. I dwell over the question: Why Didn't It Work for some people? Why did it appear to make some worse? ...

Hi Lars,
I believe they are no longer doing open label HiCy. They will be beginning the blinded phase 3 trial in the winter. They may not be accepting because they have enough participants. Chris seems to know a bit more about this. You may want to contact him on his site.

I wonder if the results would be the same if the patients had been re-infused with embryonic stem cells or cord stem cells? Those auto-reactive buggers are almost impossible to be 100% wiped out from autologus bone marrow. Still, Keri, you make a good point are those of us who have gone thru the Hop...

Sandy's MS situation pre-revimmune

I checked in here and wanted to further qualify my situation. My MS was a mixed bag. Until about 2 years ago, I had been in a complete remission for 15 years (no attacks or new lesions). I was either pregnant or nursing for 5 1/2 years until 2006. Nursing was the best for my MS. I didn't know, at th...
