Re: Tecfidera - cold and flu - Anyone getting sick more?
Here I am again! I've had a "cold" for the past 6 weeks. My body just can't seem to fight a cold once it comes on. It turned into a sinus infection and I'm on steroids and a second course of antibiotics. It's just not letting up. I know that reduced white blood cell count is a side effect ...

Re: Tecfidera - cold and flu - Anyone getting sick more?
I am the original poster in this thread. I finally got over my 5 week long cold / sinus thing on 1/2/14. I felt fine until a couple of days ago. Now I have a full blown cold again and it's only 2/14/14. I am so careful about germs, colds, washing my hands, etc. I am almost a fanatic according to my ...

Re: Tecfidera - cold and flu - Anyone getting sick more?
Yes, my neuro did a full CBC and everything was normal including the white blood cell count. Mine was squarely in the healthy section of 7.5. Getting a cold for me is horrible. It almost always turns into a sinus infection no matter how careful I am using Neti pot, etc. Plus MS gets very active duri...

Tecfidera - cold and flu - Anyone getting sick more?
I was on Tysabri for several years. In September I moved to Tecfidera. I think I have been on it for 3.5 months or so. The stomach issues stopped after the first few weeks, but the flushing happens every time like clockwork. I have gotten used to that as well as much as I can. My question is, has an...

Re: Side effects
I started Tecfidera 2 weeks ago. I have had a lot of flushing and redness, a bit of itching. I also have had a bit of nausea and stomach upset but not as bad as many others. It's funny that the redness and flushing happens within the hour then goes away. It comes back when I eat lunch which is weird...

Re: wash out period.
My neuro and I discussed switching from Ty to BG-12 in the spring. She recommended a 2 month wash out period. Basically, missing 1 month of Ty. (i.e. last infusion May 1st, no June 1st infusion, start BG12 on July 1st).

Re: did anything cause your MS?
My first flair up that landed me in the hospital and led to my diagnosis 5 years ago came about 2 weeks after using Chantix to quit smoking. I don't think Chantix causes MS, but I do think it turned it on. If you google Chantix and MS you will see that I am not alone. Many folks started having MS sy...

Pink - you need to make these decisions for yourself. Your doctor simply saying NO is invalid. You may need another doctor. I always begin to question a docs opinion that is too verbal. I left Tysabri a year ago. I barely had any rebound. I'm now on Copaxone and doing great, except now I don't have ...

Post CCSVI dreaming and emotional stuff
I had my liberation procedure nearly 3 weeks ago. Everything went fine, both jugs were ballooned (one was 45% narrowed, other was 20%) and the azygos (sp?) was fine, but "tortuous" as they said. Many of my symptons have improved (walking, coordination, etc) but other have remained (dizzine...

One more comment on my experience - We are all on edge about CCSVI and getting the procedure done. I myself have been trying to get it done since last year. When it finally came time to get the venogram and the angioplasty it was extremely routine. Boringly routine if you know what I mean. Also, the...

LOL...I'm not sure why they did the shaving in the O.R. It was quick with an electric, I guess I didn't give it much thought. I still feel great. I spent the last couple of days hanging out in NYC visiting friends. I walked the town yesterday all day and all night. I had great energy and feel really...

The procedure is done and I am back in my hotel room. Here is a quick run down of what happened today. I know many have posted, but I'd like to share in case it can help someone: My procedure was scheduled at 1pm today. I was told to get to the hospital at 12:00 for check in. I got there right on ti...

I'm in my hotel room getting ready to leave for the hospital in an hour or so. I am so nervous and excited I can't really even think. Here are my current MS symptoms as I sit here today: Dizzy - always there Buzzing sound and feeling - always there Slight balance issues - comes and goes Brain fog - ...

Turbotaguy HAS BEEN LIBERATED!!
After a long long wait my liberation appointment date has arrived. My procedure is tomorrow at noon. I am in my hotel room now trying to relax, thinking about what will happen tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has done this before me and written up their experience. Based on reading tons of posts I h...

Anyone live in the Czech Republic? I have some questions...
Does anyone on this forum live in the Czech Republic? I am considering doing a 6 month work assignment there and I have some very specific questions. Anyone?
