I've been on Cesamet (Nabilone) for several months now. It works for the most part, but it's costly. Not nearly as costly as the Sativex that I was originally prescribed (that my insurance flat out refused to cover). I do find that the Cesamet (synthetic THC, in capsules) isn't even close to as effe...

I haven't been on here in a long time (hi all!), I've been off DMDs for nearly a year now and eating a Swank-type diet for 1.5 years, been in remission too thankfully! :) I watched the w5 show, and I'm so hopeful about this treatment. It just makes entirely too much sense, which would take me hours ...

Well, I learned my trick that helps.

Pressing with the cotton ball for 30 seconds after injection. No more gigantic bump afterwards!

I don't know about preventing it, seeing as how I've drank coffee since I was 10 years old, and at 31 dx'ed with MS.

I have lived off the stuff since around the age of 19, prior to that I had maybe 1 every 2 days or so.

Whole day? Ouch! I have never had that happen for that long personally.

I always make sure the area is super dry after the alcohol wipe too, that reduces the stinging a bit :)

Good stuff! One tip that I found is really helpful (not sure if the nurse showed you) is to press with the cotton ball on the injection site for 30 seconds after the injection. It reduced my welts that I was getting from injecting drastically, so I do this every time now :)

Well, to be fair, this isn't surprising. MS can mimic so many different conditions, and so many different conditions can mimic MS. MS is not a diagnosis or suspicion that GPs are probably wanting to jump on.

I'd say slim to none at this stage. If you develop symptoms of neurological nature, and have been checked out and a doctor can find no other explainable cause for the symptoms, and these symptoms last for a decent period of time (sudden onset not to be dismissed), then it may be time to explore neur...

Nenu, I am fascinated to read about your burning mouth. Mine too burns so bad and i feel like an idiot trying to explain this to other people. I have experienced the inside of my mouth peeling also. I told my Neuro that the inside of my mouth was often numb but I did not mention the burning because...

Yes, I've done the IV steroids twice now. It does get better after the steroids (as do other symptoms I have), however it never completely goes away, and when I have stress/anxiety it comes back pretty full force. But the meds seem to be doing the trick :)

Gabapentin takes quite a while for the benefits to be felt.

If you've taken something like Percocet for pain before, it's not at all like that. No immediate relief.

By quite a while, I can't give you an answer. It depends on the individual.
