Blessings to you

God, I hope you do O.K. on this. I am so uncertain. I have fears about the side effects and I have a career that I can't afford to lose. I need to be functional at all times. Also, I am a smoker. I'm afraid my lungs will collapse on this stuff. Thanks so much for replying. I needed to hear from some...

I agree with all of you! #$% Novartis! I quit all of the treatments. Why should I jeopardize my life, the rest of my health, safety and well-being on an empty hope that does more damage than good, destroys your body and make you incapacitated. Without all that crap I can live my life and work and la...

Gilenya

Has anyone started on this yet? My neurologist at the MS Center is really trying to push this on me.

Dear EyeDoc: I hope you do very well with your therapy. I, on the other hand, (and, I am not saying for other MS patients to follow my path) am doing very well off all interferon and injection treatments. I stopped injections mid-February and am feeling so much better without them. My neurologist di...

Dear Chadeldridge, Thanks for your well wishes. I wish I could have the painless experience that you have on Rebif. You are lucky. Perhaps, in the future, I may reconsider the interferon therapies, however, I am doing better without them. After a year and a half on Avonex, the doctor said that there...

I quit all the MS treatments.

Miss Fiesty: I agree with your post from a year and a half ago. I, too, quit the interferons. I've been off them for over four weeks now and I feel great. I still feel the MS, but at least I have my life back. It is wonderful to be drug-free and without side effects at last. The side-effects were ab...

Stopping Rebif

Hello Eyedoc,

How are you doing after discontinuing Rebif? Are you happier? Are you on any new treatment?

What Are Your Thoughts On Rebif?

I was on Avonex since July of 2008. Then, I made an appointment with an MS Center in February of this year because I felt that my neurologist was not really helping me with my illness. The doctor at the MS Center said that I need to stop the Avonex and start Rebif because he felt that my lesions inc...

You will be O.K. And, NHE IS A GREAT PERSON! I've been on Avonex for almost a year. Never thought I would inject myself but I DID IT and I'll be damned but you will be O.K.! That is all I have to say.

Thank you also Patientx: I saw my neuro today and he prescribed for me the patch behind the ear. Hopefully this works. He also said that I don't really need any motion-sickness medication if I take the Xanax. I only have about 31 left at home. I said "O.K, then you will have to give me more!&qu...

Head Fogginess/MS Fatigue

Hello: I am just wondering if anyone has ever experienced extreme fatigue sydndromes I just came back from my neuro. I've been complaining about major fatigue for about a year now and I described to him about the strange fogginess in my head and that I could not lift up a piece of paper because of t...

Thanks for the input NHE. I most certainly will not be taking Avonex the day of or the day before my shark adventure. I have this all figured out when we go to Hawaii. The day after I take my Avonex, I plan on having a restful do-nothing day because I am in pain! As a matter of fact, I will call my ...

Sea-sickness/Motion sickness and MS

Does anyone have any problems with sea-sickness and their MS? I have never really had a problem with that, but I know that I do get car-sick if I am in the back seat or trying to read. I also have balance problems and slight issues with vertigo (both symptoms of my MS). It has been quite some time s...

Thank you for explaining! I feel so much better now. I get weary everytime I have to inject my thigh because of that first experience. But, I'm on Week 7 now and am doing fine. The side effects are wearing off (I think and hope). I have not felt the same sensation that I did the first time around up...

Hi NHE, I like to take Advil because I am afraid of having liver damage due to the combination of Tylenol and Avonex. My doctor said that he has never seen an Avonex patient with a damaged liver yet. I'll take his word. Anyhow, the second time, I never took the Advil before I went to bed and I was m...
