Shaky Jay, Something seems not right in your post. Did your neuro tell you specifically that you had PML and then sent you home! Or did your neuro tell you that you had the 'rebound effect' and maybe used the word IRIS? It seems strange to me, as a former longterm user of Tysabri, and a close reader...

HarryZ, -though I am aware of your overwhelmingly negative view of Biogen, and have over the years witnessed many of your back-and-forths regarding Tysabri ( the highlight would have to be your success in temporarily driving Bromley insane a few years ago) - I will try one more time to explain my is...

At work right now - so let me be more direct: There's lots of things that MS'ers take that can modify the immune system (some much more powerful than Tysabri - see Campath) - none of them have been found to cause IRIS. In MS patients, IRIS appears to be direct by-product of the processes that are us...

Its keeping me up too! I think you're right - that in order for the Canadian Press statement to make sense, the CIS subjects have to be included in the total 280 MS subjects. I just have a hard time believing that roughly 160 CIS patients were included in the 280! Its easier for me to believe that a...

A final point would be that canadians paying for medical care is strange. We demand a lot for free and it has to be the best. You have no choice but to amaze us with honour, this is not the US where people are used to doctors with a profit motive. You have to be better. I don't understand your stat...

Mangio said: 28 children that have been diagnosed with leukemia and 11 of them have died. This is the data from Italy alone from a new MS approved drug. But it gets nastier because the doctors thought this new miracle drug could be deployed for another patient population - in the Rheumatology field ...

re: IRIS
IRIS?!
That sounds like a red herring to me - IRIS is caused by plasmapheresis, which is used to get Tysabri out of your system as quickly as possible if you have PML. Either your neuro's PA doesn't have a clue, or your neuro has a patient who developed PML...

Just a short point, I also just received my CCSVI newsletter by email. It is only a summary of the original linked posting by MS Jess, and leaves out lots of information and especially the 'this is really big' spirit that explodes out of the original newsletter. Those of you who are just stumbling o...

Just in case this isn't posted somewhere else, and I'm being very brief cause' I've got to get to work! The BNAC.net website already has an online questionairre built for submitted information for the CCSVI imaging tests noted in the newsletter. The pricing on the site is $4,500 for the full imaging...

What I remember of the study - it was posted on ThisIsMs about 3 years ago - was that it was done on patients who had come off Tysabri after the recall. The majority of the study group had only been on the drug for less than a year and the most striking stat. was that the longer that you'd been on t...

Very interesting. I'm assuming we are talking about the anti-body test? Did your doctor give any other information - ie: does he/she know where in the U.S. its going to be available first? Thanks, John (on the great Canadian frontier, where a typical neurologist's response to questions about the JC ...

Same boat as JR5646 above, just a few months behind. Was on Tysabri for 26 months - no relapses, now on a drug holiday for at least 6 months. I have also had the 1 year possible drug holiday conversation with my neuro: she says evidence suggests that you have a much lower chance of developing Tysabr...
