MRI without contrast??

I think I already know the answer to this, but my GF got an MRI without contrast and it came back clean. If she did have lesions, can they be seen on this type of MRI (it was 1.5 Tesla). I think ACTIVE lesions need the contrast to distinguish them from dormant or old ones, but can the old ones and d...

Bracing to get the diagnosis.

Since the posts, things are closer to being figured out. SHe had an MRI (w/o contrast) because it was initally to figure out he...

hi terry, for me the first sign is the arms going spastic. after a while, my throat (which is never perfect) starts to deteriorate and i end up with spit going down the wrong way with every swallow, and not being able to clear it. if i were to let it get really bad, i would start to have problems g...

Worried, the symptoms you described could be attributed to literally dozens of different diseases and syndromes, and I wouldn't think that MS is the most likely among them. Your girlfriend doesn't exhibit sensory symptoms (numbness, tingling), or visual problems, both of which are very common early...

so she is going back to her doc to get more blood tests. She is trying to be proactive in getting everything done that she can... What vitamins and minerals should be screened for other than b12 and D3? She has been on supplements, so should she stop all supplements for a while and then get the bloo...

Hey, Well, has a referral to a neurologist but we aren't sure when yet. Our diet is very healthy - we have always eaten well. I just need to talk to someone here because things seem to be pretty bad. Last week for two days she could barely walk - I had to help her anytime she needed to get up. Every...

Re: Ideas for Worried...

Worried, you wrote that your girlfriend's doctors suspect a sinus related problem. Ask that the radiologist who reads her MRI note specifically the condition of her sinuses. On MRI it is always noted that I have chronic sinusitis, even though I have no symptoms -- headaches, pressure, etc. --except...

... She also complains about not being able to recall words quick sometimes. Thanks so much 8O I have this too for long ... but no yet diagnose. By the way, taking VIT D is a good start in winter. I took 4000 UI a day and my IBS was in control (upper serotonin level it seems ...), you're more happy...

Dizziness was my first symptom. had it for years before I was officaly dx. to this day dizziness is my biggest symptom, pretty much my only symptom. Like her my dizziness usually only acts up in the fall and winter months. I love the heat! Dizziness can be caused by many many other things other tha...

The first thing I would look into is her Vitamin D and her Vitamin B. They are a simple blood test. In those months Vitamin D would be very low, especially in Canada. B deficiencies are common anywhere. All of those things you described could very easily be lack of those key vitamins. Hey there, Sh...

possible MS?

Hi everyone, I joined this site to help figure out what is going on with my girlfriend. she is now 31 and for the last 3 years (usually Nov-March, NEVER in the summer months), she gets extremely dizzy and tired. She says she can't stay awake and her limbs get heavy and "achy" - kind of lik...
