Cognitive Decline and Gait

I wonder how it correlates with MS gait & cognitive issues.

Re: question about teeth

I would look into "tongue thrusting," which can displace the teeth in the manner described, and can be associated with neurological conditions it seems. Do you push your tongue against the inside of your teeth habitually or when swallowing?

Re: hypoxia-related neurological deficits in sleep apnea

wanted to bump this thread - I've been having episodes of night sweats which seem to be potentially related to sleep apnea, and both of those are associated with MS ... any more info on people's experience with apnea and night sweats post CCSVI op? It's an interesting intersection for study I think.

influence of politics and the public on research funding

http://www.ipolitics.ca/2011/10/14/the-influence-of-politics-the-public-on-research-funding-in-canada/ Interesting article. Thought it was just going to condemn "ignorant citizens online" for guiding research dollars, but it seemed more intelligent and nuanced than that. The James Lind Alliance in t...

Re: Spreadsheet for tracking thread

If this goes forward, I would consider using Google Docs - they have a spreadsheet that is basically a simple Excel - wityh the advantage of being editable by multiple people, one central doc, history of all edits made (revertable to older versions in case of mistakes made), etc ... you can create i...

I haven't gone through the rest of the CCSVI-Lyme links that popped up when I searched but I started to think about this: Alot of diseases like Lyme are caused by bacteria that are oxygen intolerant or low-oxygen tolerant. What if increasing blood flow not only provided more oxygen to oxygen-depriv...

Wow - it seems I missed out on one hell of a drama - and an important one, at that. Are there any links or anything I could get caught up with? I had no idea about any of this going down, and I am probably not alone on here (it seems most of the action took place on other sites, and I only check in ...

I don't know a lot about the person or the background, but some of the claims made in this seem wild to me, especially when coming from a new account with 1 post. Teva called her? "Big Pharma" hacked her facebook page? hmmm!! If anyone else can vouch for this info or the source, I would be intereste...

This is what I know. She disappeared completely to protect another pwMS (me), even though she was getting hassled. Her FB page was hacked by Big Pharma. A blogger for Everyday Health defamed her. Teva Neuroscience called her after Biogen read her notes and contacted Teva. Novartis put her on their ...

Prevalence of CCSVI in Multiple Sclerosis & Other Diseas

Pardon me if this was already posted - I searched for it but did not see it anywhere: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01384825 The presence of abnormalities in the cerebral venous circulation, defined as Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI), has recently been reported in patients...

Perhaps we are infected with a pathogen that causes the veins to stenose (and restenose), in order to provide itself with a more favorable environment in which to flourish in our brains. It would hardly be one of the more amazing ways in which parasitic organisms of all kinds are known to modify hos...

The simplest explanation for such a bias is the fact that if CCSVI treatment replaces drug therapy for MS, the neurologists stand to lose huge sums of money. Notably, the neurologists involved in the University of Buffalo research reported very extensive financial ties to pharmaceutical companies i...
