Interventional Neuroradiologists might be your best bet
Since many of you in the U.S. are probably extremely saddened by Dr. Dake no longer doing interventions on MS patients outside a clinical trial, I want to share a tip that might lead to some of you getting Zamboni's Liberation Procedure performed locally. By sheer luck, I found a local interventiona...

I get tremors in the morning which I do not experience in the day or at any other time, once I get up they stop. I wonder as well if that is because of the jugulars not being able to take the strain of the blood flow at night. I do have a raised bed as well. Did you experience the morning tremors b...

Medical research is so frustrating. The Copaxone + Minocycline study was completed and reported on over 2 1/2 years ago at an MS conference, and they're finally publishing the results? I'd like to know what took so long and whether there have been any other developments in minocycline MS research du...

Astrocytes and cerebral blood flow
Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm surprised that no one (as far as I can tell) has delved into the link between what Dignan has called the two biggest recent developments in MS -- CCSVI and the possibly integral role astrocytes play in the development of MS. I've only quickly scanned a couple of ...

What a bummer about the no blockages or stenosis. Zamboni found that 10% or so of the MS patients that he performed venography on did NOT have a blockage or stenosis of either jugular vein. However, those patients had one or more areas of stenosis in their azygos veins. Make sure that your sonograp...

I just spoke with the research department at Jocobs Buffalo Neurologial Institute in NY and they are doing a 1000 person study of MS patients for CCSVI. It is not interventional but there is no charge to participate and get the needed tests. They have 250 people enrolled so far and need to get back...

Once it is established as an FDA approved effective technique, I BELIEVE that the surgeon is permitted to use his judegement and apply it in any situation he feels it will effectively open up the vessel in question. I beleive it is not necessary to trial it for every application. I believe that tec...

Internal Jugular Vein Valve
One aspect of the vein clean out that I'm confused about is what happens to the valves in the veins? Isn't there a valve at the bottom of the internal jugular veins (near the connection with the subclavian vein)? How does the catheter used for the angioplasty/stent procedure go through the valve wit...
