birth control pill
Does anyone know if there's any correlation between the birth control pill and MS? I've heard something about it before and just started looking into it a bit and just read they think they might be related because the prevelance of MS increased over the years from the introduction of the pill? When ...

Hey guys, I posted this topic so long ago, I was suprised to find it back at the top again. Well it's good because it gives me ther chance to share my findings... As you know from my original post, I had been having problems with constipation, and not just from diagnosis, but my entire life. I state...

egg whites?
Are egg whites ok on the swank or best bet diet? I know the swank diet says no more than 1 egg/day and nore more than 3/week, and I'm assuming because of saturated fats, but egg whites contain no saturated fat and it doesn't say anything about them so I don't know if egg whites are ok to eat unlimit...

I wouldn't advise it because most protien powders/shakes, I'm pretty sure, have aspartame in them which they say is bad for MS. I changed my diet and started eating more protien and taking protien shakes before I had a major attack that lead to my diagnosis. I obviously don't know if there was any c...

back burn?
I can't really tell if this is a symptom from my MS or not so I thought I'd ask if anyone else experiences this... If I'm sitting hunched over, bent over, or even just stressed out sometimes lol, I get this sore, burning sensation in my back, in the middle, I guess where my ribs are on my back is th...

BBD - snack ideas?
I follow the Swank recommedations but also try to incorporate BBD recommendations and avoid wheat, dairy and legumes. I find it very challenging to find things to snack on when you're just hungry for something quick, or for lunch-type meals. I'd like to hear what others on these diets eat for snacks...

Thank you both for your responses. The scan isnt covered by OHIP so it is $250. That is not outrageous in my opnion, so I think I'll try it just to see what the results say. I understand I sadly can't be treated in Canada and that they might not have the best equiptment or procedure, but I'm just cu...

CCSVI scan in Toronto
I've been on a waiting list for a CCSVI testing in Toronto (I think at Global Medical Imaging, I think they just do a doppler scan?) But now I cant remember if people said on here that its worth it doing that scan? Like can they tell properly? I just thought I remembered ppl saying that alot of ppl ...

Closest place to Canada (Ontario) to get CCSVI treatment???
I've been looking further into CCSVI and considering treatment options for the future. So far, the only place I've talked to sends you to India for treatment. I understand they may have some of the best doctors in the world, but having a baby and a toddler at home, I wouldn't want to be that far awa...

I have a 3 month old and am exclusively breastfeeding. My neuro told me (which I also found in research myself) that breastfeeding is actually more protectant from relapses than the DMTs. Studies have shown that exclusively breastfeeding mothers had relapse rates lower than those who chose not to br...

I just called the port perry location maybe over a week ago and was told OHIP covers it. I was put on a waiting list though. I also called Barrie and was told that I need a referral sent in, I can't just be put on a waiting list, and that OHIP does not cover it, but the doctor covers the cost? (I di...
