Re: Vitamins/Minerals from Dr Wahls clinical trials of her d

Sidenote - Another paper published regarding Dr. Wahl's diet noted the use of these supplements: "2 g each of glutathione, N acetyl-cysteine, and taurine daily, and lithium orotate 300 mg twice daily." Also, "Her MS medications included B complex vitamins, carnitine, lipoic acid, gaba...

IV Glutathione

I just started seeing a holistic MD and she's trying to push the IV Glutathione. I haven't found any literature that would convince me it is particularly effective with MS, though here's some anecdotal stuff regarding Parkinson's. Never mind the price tag at over $100 per shot!! ouch. I know glutath...

Re: almostCLever Update

I had a western blot through Directlabs (Labcorp), which came back CDC positive. Then found a doctor near me who was open to testing. She had me tested through Igenex, which came back negative. Strange. Was put on Doxycycline after the positive test. I started feeling better after a few weeks. After...

Re: Relapse triggered by massage

I had a massage a few months ago and also felt terribly afterward. I was very disappointed because I was hoping that a massage would provide some relief from spasticity. I also have a brainstem lesion.

Re: Newbie here with my diet regimen

Hey cg50, thanks for posting. I'm curious what your fat intake is like. I tried to the paleo, but I did a higher fat intake than before and my symptoms got significantly worse. I'm wondering if the paleo diet works for MS but with a reduced fat intake. I was eating a lot of Sat fat, which is recomme...

Just to add on to jimmylegs' suggestion, you can also check out directlabs.com for DIY blood tests. I can sympathize with the bad insurance.

Re: MRI is Normal....can I stop worrying now?

Without lesions you cannot have MS. MS = Multiple Sclerosis = Multiple Lesions.

Did they scan just the brain or the spine also? You may have lesions in your C-spine/T-spine.

This one is going to be a blockbuster. I'm sure they're going to price it accordingly.

Re: Could a virus be the cause of MS?

So far I count a handful of viruses and a similar amount of bacteria that are thought of being the cause and/or contributing to MS. How can all these studies have essentially conflicting conclusions? HERV, EBV, HV6, Cpn, etc. I guess it just doesn't make sense that all of these could the culprit. St...

Re: Recruitment starts on Multiple Sclerosis hookworm trial

Are hookworm therapies available through private clinics in the US or is this only going on through a trial? Not available in the USA at all thanks to the FDA looking after your interests  The trial of Hookworm as a treatment is starting at Nottingham University (UK) and will run for a year. ...

Re: Stent fears inhibit good care sometimes

Personally I would be more comfortable recommending stents to MS patients once we have proven the efficacy of stenting as treatment of CCSVI. The debate over the risk of any treatment is only relevant when weighed against the benefits. Since we are in the infancy of treating CCSVI syndrome and outco...

Re: Multiple sclerosis on the rise in India

For other geeks like me. There are about 600 MRI scanners in India today; by the end of the next decade, the number is likely to have increased to 1000 or 1200. . . . with the economy booming and the GDP growth at 8-9%, it may become possible to acquire MRI equipment more easily and ensure that its ...

Re: Multiple sclerosis on the rise in India

Come on guys. This was a brief article about the rise of MS in India. How do we go from that to pointing the finger at pharma, again. Getting back on topic, if there is an increase, could that be due to an increase in just the diagnosis of MS? For example, an explosion of medical technology in India...
