Anybody near Victorville/Hesperia/Phelan...
Do you have a neurologist you like? I'm in Phelan and I've been trucking down to Loma Linda but would rather go closer to home and also find a doctor that doesn't have a 6 month wait.

Anthem Blue Cross
Anybody have Anthem PPO who is taking Ampyra? How much is it costing you?
Id like to give it a try but I can't get an answer of how much it will cost. I was told my co-pay is 50% of the allowed rate but they won't tell me the allowed rate!

Spinal Tap
Have any of you (or anybody you know) been denied insurance benefits because of a negitive spinal tap? I was told a year ago I had progressive MS. I didn't feel confident with the doctor and started looking into Lyme. My Lyme test with Igenex was what I'd call a "maybe". A lyme doctor I am...

Lyme is a maybe! Doxy question
Partial positive on my Lyme test...but those are what also come up with positive EBV so my doctor is skeptical but willing to try me on Doxy. Question 1: Is 100mg twice/day effective or should it be higher dose? (I am a 165 lb adult woman) Question 2: How long before I get a Herx reaction (if its go...

Jim, I am taking 10 mg 2x/day. How long did it take before you noticed any effects? I've taken it for 2 days and haven't noticed anything except being very tired, although that may not be related to the drugs. Are you in the US? I am getting it from Inland Compounding Pharmacy in California. Phone #...

I was just thinking that Lew. I already set reminders for appointments and all that other stuff but I'm forgetting the simple things that I should know. Birthdays, anniversaries, HOW A STEERING WHEEL WORKS! Ge'ez! This morning I had somewhere important to be, I started the car and slowly started to...

Fampridine / Aminopyridine
Anybody try this? What were the results?
I don't think its approved yet for MS so I'm a bit surprised my neuro prescribed it for me.
It had to come from a compounding pharmacy but it was cheap enough - $43/mo + $3 postage.

Questions
I was told I have PPMS. I'm being tested for Lyme but if it comes back negitive, I'm going to try to get my doc to put me on antibiotics anyway. And if he won't I'll find a way to get the drugs myself online and just go to him for followups. I'm not very good at sorting thru all the medical info so ...

The two books I've read over he most times are The Giver by Lois Lowry and Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein. I've read the whole Harry Potter series in three languages, and listened to both versions of the English audiobooks repeatedly. Jim Dale does a better job than Stephen Fry - eve...

There are certain diseases the VA deems as automatically service connected, MS being one of them. There are some who theorize all of the shots and immunizations you take can trigger MS, but no one knows for sure. There is a 7 year window after you leave the service, but, don't quote me on this part...

Iron question
Forgive me if this has all ready been discussed.
I saw the Canadian news report & I think the doctor said the reduced blood flow due to CCSVI causes a buildup of iron in the brain.
Is it possible to have the brain tested for iron and has that been done to verify his theory?
