Re: MS pain

I know this topic may stir up the proverbial hornets nest. But I have had multiple sclerosis now for nearly 12 years. Other than some initial optic pain, I have never experienced pain. I know that for a long while many doctors did not think that MS even caused pain. Now it seems that every forum I ...

Re: Should I tell my boss?

If you're comfortable telling, do so. If not, then don't. You don't have to say anything and it's against the law to fire you. If performance is not impacted why would it matter what you have?

Re: Trigeminal Neuralgia Meds

i have no personal xp with TN, but have looked into it previously. revisiting and refreshing memory, i went along usual channels for me, landing on surgeries first this time. Arterial compression of nerve is the primary cause of trigeminal neuralgia https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3889...

Trigeminal Neuralgia Meds

What works for you guys? I had my first dance with TN 4 years ago, now its back and the pain is 10x as bad. Sent a message to my Neurologist and he should reply tomorrow but I need to know what the experts have to say. So, anything help you guys? I'm not interested in any surgeries and my plan is to...

I never took any DMD's, 15 years into it and no regrets from me either.

Re: Really struggling with everything

Yeah...It sucks to be us but you can still live a great fulfilling life. You are still working and said you have no symptoms and you speak of compassion, sorry but there are plenty on this board reading your post that are praying for the bad life that you have. I was dx'ed October 31, 2002 and had n...

Re: What’s the point?

Your life is not over. It won't be as easy.... You may not be able to do asa much as you would like.... You may not be able to do as much as the next person.... but, it is not over. The entire left side of my body was paralyzed in the latter part of 2002 from MS. I was tired, even after I could walk...

Re: MRI w/o Contrast

I never get the contrast because of the same reason you stated, supposedly it's some nasty stuff. Without contrast will show older lesions where scar tissue has developed but not new or "active" lesions. The way I understand it is even with the contrast a person could have some low level d...

BJJ- There is no way I could remain vertical if I removed one of my feet from the ground in an effort to kick anything above knee height. The thing that gets me is the heat, grappling with someone while wearing a GI can drive the temp up fast.

Re: scared I have ppms-need help

You should definitely go back to the doctor and get a diagnosis because you might be barking up the wrong tree. Then whatever bucket you end up falling in, you should learn as much about it as you can and continue on with life as best as you can. It's understandable to be scared about the unknown bu...

Re: JAN 2017 ARMY MS DIAGNOSED

It's good for 30% disability from the VA. Not positive but I believe you may be able to continue to serve. Make sure all your symptoms are documented in you medical records and get a copy upon discharge. This will make things easier for you once you discharge as the VA labyrinth can become quite con...

Re: Making treatment decisions - new to the forum

How do they know it's fast acting? Have you gotten a second opinion? I don't think anyone can just assume they know how your case will play out over your life. I too am concerned about the side effects of these DMD's which is why I declined them. Hi Newbie - the fast acting comment was based on the...
