why are stents being used so often still?
I'm hearing more and more about stent problems. Why are the CCSVI treating doctors continuing to be so cavalier about the use of stents when there are clearly serious concerns about thrombosis and long term patency? This to me is going to hurt the CCSVI research cause and hurt a lot of desperate pat...

Dawson's fingers and Dr. Schelling?
Ok, so I have a new lesion from my last MRI, on the corpus callosum. Apparently can be "Dawson's fingers" in that area. I thought I remember some mention of a connection between Schelling's theories about vascular involvement and Dawson's fingers. Has anyone read anything about this or bee...

these lists are extremely subjective. Undertreatment = not using stents if pt doesn't respond to repeated ballooning? There's a strong argument to say that ANY stenting at this point in time is overtreatment. Period. Migration risks aside, the long term patency data on stents in the next is simply n...

Dr. S, could you elaborate or perhaps list some of the non-MS related possible complications of untreated venous blockages? And are these complications things that are documented in the literature (and therefore accepted by all IRs) or rather more complications that you personally have seen from you...

So happy for the both of you. I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, whist your wife's MS history is like. You did mention that she was was in pretty good shape. I am in that boat in that I'm relatively well (can't run or walk miles or anything though, but still...). So for now I'm waiting as I'm a...

It's possible that the pts will all be more heavily sedated to preserve the blinding. Furthermore it's also highly probable that no one will receive anticoagulants, because stents are not being used. Drs Siskin and Mandato do not use them, and when I emailed Dr. Mandato about it, he emphasized that ...

there are other points that i take exception to, but all in all, i do not think that they were intentionally biased as much as they were biased by the current publications which, other than zamboni, are lacking. It makes me quite unhappy that khan's opinion paper was accepted because of the weight ...
