Re: CCSVI and CCVBP

Such sad news. We have lost a very knowledgeable & supportive man.

Re: New MS Types

Well thought out and summarised Vesta. No wonder that it is so difficult to get a handle on this "disease".

Re: another confused MS sufferer

Hi Sophie, The book I have found most helpful is "Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis" by Professor George Jelinek, a doctor who himself has MS. It has been almost 15 years since I got the diagnosis and have avoided DMDs so far. I know we are all different but for me the progression has been ver...

Re: Long time lurker...my journey begins Tuesday

Yes, absolutely amazing.

I have been sitting on the fence since I joined this forum but am getting closer to jumping off. I have similar left sided issues to a lesser extent. The fear of maybe making things worse holds me back.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Re: What things make your MS symptoms feel worse?

Shivering due to cold weather. This seems to affect muscles, making walking and co-ordinating my gait more difficult.

Re: How many had Back Problems before being diagnosed with M

Yes, herniated disc at L4/L5, but long before the diagnosis. Backache on and off for many years. Low back pain is a common ailment in the general public. Then there is the whole cervical spine story.... see Dr Flanagan's thread. As so many have said we have individual stories. Let's hope the puzzle ...

Thanks for your advice and interest in my story Dr Flanagan. I am so happy that it drew you back to this thread for the benefit of us all.

I agree wholeheartedly with everyone's sentiments. I have followed this thread since it started and believe Dr Flanagan's theories and explanations are a very large piece of the ms puzzle. Before you leave, and I hope you don't, can you recommend any NUCCA chiropractors in Sydney. Thank you for shar...

It's been a year since I started sleeping inclined and the most noticable improvement has been in leg spasms when going to sleep. It doesn't happen anymore. I also feel less sinusy in the morning. As IBT is my only "therapy" apart from a Swank type diet, I'm sticking with it. Low temperatu...

Oh yes the patronising rant, I've heard it too. Quite insulting.

I am grateful for the open discussion and sharing of information and experiences on this site. I think great strides have been made in the last year. For 13 years I have resisted DMDs and have yet to make a decision about the procedure. I guess if I had more disability and symptoms I wouldn't hesita...

Thanks jimmylegs and 1eye.

I forgot to mention that there is also a difference in skin colour of the weaker left arm and leg compared to the right. I thought this had to do with circulation but who knows?

Re: doc asks

MS is about Loss, and from Loss comes Grief. zina[/quote] So true and there is no consolation that time will help. It's often the reverse. I don't know whether this has been mentioned before. I have more difficulty walking when I shiver. My weaker left arm and leg result in an odd gait. I wonder whe...

Dr Sclafani asks a question

Living life as if there is a Damocles sword over your head. Fear that you have passed this on to your children. Feeling betrayed by your body. Having to concentrate on each step otherwise you trip over your own feet. Even on a good day knowing you are still on that rollercoaster ride of uncertainty.
