Re: A Single Drop of Blood creates MS
Joan and others, I just cannot fathom the way Doctors think. Let me quote an example. Auto Immune at the fundamental level has two parts (at least) - immune system itself and then the target organ in question. Every literature almost invariably mentions auto immune diseases as cases where our immune...

Thyroid & MS
Hello All, A bit of background first ... For the last one year, I have been going through horrendous joint and muscle aches. As always, I felt that these aches are temporary and will go away. But I started following up with general physician June last year. Thyroid tests showed TSH levels high (8+) ...

Joan,
Thanks a lot. Somehow, I haven't seen any MS specific article in TED and hence my original post.

Re: Importance of sleep for brain health TED talk
Thanks! That was a really interesting TED Talk! It has renewed my commitment to getting a good night's sleep (despite the fact that I am writing this post late at night local time (lol)! What struck me about the TED talk is how the brain's waste products are removed from the brain via a paraventric...

Propose for TED talk
Folks, I am sure many of you are aware of TED talk. If some of you have not, I do suggest you listening to some of the topics on Biology, Health, Brain etc. The insight TED provides is just incredible. The other day, I was listening to this speaker who was explaining why sleep is essential (http://w...

Not totally relevant to CCSVI but certain portions are probably applicable. Earlier efforts to hunt
down disease-causing genes—so-called genomewide association studies—frequently came up empty-handed because medical researchers had to take cost-saving shortcuts. Instead of trolling an individual’s ...

Re: Migraine patients exhibit CCSVI-like venous outflow
I too have classical migraine headaches. They used to be once a week earlier, but now they have reduced considerably. Similar is the case with my mother. She has MS symptoms and used to have worse migraine headaches. Migraine headaches have reduced (almost non existent) but MS symptoms have remained...

Re: James Watson's discovery of DNA structure in 1953
1eye, ** I am not an expert but here is my take ** I have read some paper relating to genes and MS. Most of the current research assume the culprit is a malfunctioning immune system and then try to find the culprit genes (within the known genes that control the immune system). If CCSVI is true then ...

Dr. Atkins
A week back I was just going through some books in a store and saw a book by Dr. Atkins. This had a chapter on MS. I had not heard about him before that. Anyway, I thought this would be of interest to some of us on this forum ...

I consider having MS the very same as the aging process... Only expedited, much faster and much younger. I have myself wondered about this many a times and I beg to differ. If you have noticed many elderly folks, they age and some of the functions work less efficiently but they don't complain of pa...
