Hi, I've been on Rebif for almost two years. (started March 04). It's kind of like "what comes first, the chicken or the egg". I was borderline hypothyroid before starting Rebif. Then for the last year and a half, my TSH levels were all over the place. I have 75's, 88's, and 100 doses in m...

I cannot imagine how frustrating your situation must be! Is this neuro. an MS Specialist? How many MS patients does he treat? I was diagnosed at age 60 by a PHD MS Specialist (head of an MS Clinic) This Dr. was so different from the general neuros (2) that I had seen over the course of 4 yrs. He was...

This study appears to be misleading. I'm on Rebif and the literature seems to state the normal dosage is 44mcg. 3 x week. Just saying that the outcome may have been quite different with the standard dosage. Why, for instance, didn't they cut the standard dose for Copaxone and Avonex in half? Unless ...

site reactions improving with 29 gauge needles?

Love those smaller needles! I guess it doesn't take much to make me happy. Although the 29 gauge needles are only about 15% smaller, they have made a world of difference. At one point I stopped using my upper arm sites due to large red marks with severe itching and some swelling. Since I've been usi...

My MS Specialist does not use the term "benign". Even "Mild" is an iffy term. In my case, I have significant cognitive deficits documented by neuropsych. testing. The EDSS scores, as far as I know, do not take into consideration the inability to process information, short term me...

Air bubble in Rebif

The air bubble is there for a purpose. The syringe should be held so that this air bubble is the last thing injected. It helps disperse the med. and seal the site--less chance of Rebif leaking out. Since Rebif is a subcutaneous injection, there is no problem or danger injecting the air bubble. Hope ...

New Rebifer

Hi SandyInPa, This is Bobble43 from Pa.Sounds like the first injection went okay (I won't say fine, since we all know it isn't the fun thing to do!) I am one of those that manually inject. For me, it doesn't sting as much, in fact not at all, if I push that plunger in slowly. It didn't really bother...

Lynn45--Been on Rebif since 3/04. Reddened areas from injections but no itching or hives. I always think of hives as not only reddened areas that itch, but elevated and swollen. Perhaps you're having an allergic reaction? Maybe an antihistamine would help. I would certainly let your neuro. know abou...

Just starting........

Hi k8jsl, I agree with Momsboyz. Better to get into the habit of doing shots at night , just in case you do have reactions. I started off by taking 2 Tylenol and 3 Advil one hour before injecting. Only had a reaction once, and strangely enough, it was when I was still on the 22mcg. dose--joint and m...

How I am doing on Rebif?

I've only been on the full dose since April 11 this year. I have noticed the sensory issues have calmed down a lot. No internal vibs-- tingling, crawling, itching have decreased. More fatigue, but I credit that to adjusting to the interferon. Provigil is helping a lot. Trying to focus on the long ter...

Fatigue & Treatment

Yes that bone numbing, mind frying fatigue is a major issue with me. I have learned that pacing my daily (I no longer am employed) activities is a must. I take Provigil--half a pill. I tried the full dose and I felt wired for sound!! very nervous, heart just racing--not a good feeling. I do notice a...

Anyone feel worse on Rebif?

Started Rebif 8.8 in March this year. Graduated to full dose on April 11. I did feel "funky" the day after injecting, this lasted a full month. Now, I seem to be tolerating it much better. A lot of the sensory stuff has diminished in intensity. I try to look at this long term---not how I f...
