Avonex and anti depressants

My daughter was diagnosed 1.5 years ago (AGE 16) and is on Avonex, which seems to be causing moderate depressive symptoms for a few days around the injection. She also suffers from mild to moderate OCD and at some point may decide to take Cipralex or another anti anxiety medication. Any experience, ...

Thanks everyone for your generosity of information. Cece, I was not able to open the url, (even cut paste), but have also seen such a study. It takled about iron build up being linked to OCD Thus far noone in the medical field, whom I have suggested the connection to, has heard of it. Our daughter a...

Does anyone have any information regarding the liberation treatment being performed on someone so young (no symptoms currently-initially 2 bouts of optic neuritis). CCSVI

HI...to all Maritimers! Our 17 year old has just been diagnosed and we are at the stage where we get to help her decide on which drug she will try. Heavy decision for that age. Obviously we are very anxious to have her scanned and therefore share everyone's frustration. We are in the Halifax area.

OCD TEENS and MS

Thanks for that resource! I have done some reading on the whole notion of rebuilding the pathways..makes sense to me. I will definitely have a look. The scary part is the ongoing damage that could be occurring (and irreversible) as we all wait for things to unfold with CCSVI.

Teens and MS disease modifying drugs

Hello, I am new to the forum and new to MS, in that our 16 year old has just been diagnosed after 2 bouts of optic neuritis 2 months apart. She has a dozen or so brain lesions and, after two MRI's, it is obvious that there has been new activity between the scan dates. We are up to our eyeballs tryin...

CCSVI treatment

Thanks all for this sensible discussion. As a parent of a newly diagnosed 16 year old, having "Zamboni' and his possibilities break at the same time we are looking at medication decisions, is a very welcomed circumstance. However for every question that gets answered about this scan and the ass...
