Re: brain plasticity

After a bit more than 2 weeks: I can clearly see improvements during physical exercises.
Are the improvements related MS diminished functions re: walking, balance etc?

I was thinking of using this when doing MS related physio

Thanks

Re: How did your walking issues start? Trouble with walking

Hi Tash, I echo what Scott1 states for an approach. My walking (and MS) has been a very gradual decline (18 years) without obvious relapses although the relapses in my case probably happen at a sub-clinical level. Anyway, I previously benefited from Yoga as it stretched hips and core muscles. I curr...

Re: Fats and oils impact disability in MS patients #ECTRIMS

Agree NHE we've had this high level info for ages now...more in depth analysis would be nice... I also get annoyed when coconut oil gets 'lumped' with all other saturated fats without taking into consideration the type of sf.

Re: Interesting Gut Microbiome results

Interesting news on the PNAS site - http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2017/ ... 35114.full which links a little to my own findings of high Akkermansia via the American Gut Project. Fingers crossed they start to piece the puzzle together.

Re: TH17 immune cells linked to gut bacteria...

does that mean we should be aiming for higher levels of Prevotella which will lower the TH17? Or does it mean that the body or gut flora is keeping the Prevotella levels down due to TH17 and maybe inreasing them will make the Th17 or inflammation worse?

Low Nfl's (Nurofilament levels) in Lumbar Puncture results

I had another spinal tap done recently and my nuero pointed out that my Nfl levels are lower than the average Joe. When I was diagnosed 18 years ago I didnt have a ST so this is the first time Ive come across Nfl's. My spinal lesions were still in abundance but Id like to know a little more about th...

Re: Interesting Gut Microbiome results

Hi David, Ive always found it difficult to classify a relapse, I was diagnosed after seeing the doctor for numbness which only lasted for an hour or so. Ive had similar very small issues but nothing compared to what other people seem to suffer from. Maybe my relapses are subclinical? I was about 27i...

Re: Interesting Gut Microbiome results

My symptoms have been slowly progressive since diagnosis 18 years ago, walking, stiffness, fatigue, bowel etc. My neuros used to say I was benign but my new neuro tells me Im SPMS. I work full time (12 hours a day) 5 days a week, support a family etc. My walking is down to about 1/2 a mile, I see an...

Is it not possible that this could cause CCSVI which in turn creates MS symptoms for some people?

Re: Yoga for MS?

I did yoga once a week about 12 years ago, at the time it helped my mobility greatly, it made my legs/core more flexible. I gave it up as I changed jobs tho' I wish I had continued it. Ive since tried to reintroduce without success due to job/time constraints although in an ideal world Id love to do...

Re: Interesting Gut Microbiome results

Well the thing is that I was already taking high dosage probiotics, making/drinking kefir+kombucha, making sauerkraut, eating prebiotics (onions, garlic etc) but stopped them a few days prior to my sample so as not to get results based on the probiotics taken, this is because probiotics have a short...
