Re: Possible PP MS?

Hi, Please don't be too afraid of the label "primary progressive". Also, please do check out http://overcomingmultiplesclerosis.org . A lot of folks have gotten rid of tremors and other problems you describe using an ultra healthy living program of the type described by the professor of me...

May be a better option

Selma, I think an ultra healthy living program helps reverse MS as well as anything. It is inexpensive and safe. For one site on such a program, see:

Good luck!

Vitamin D3 rocks -- a study shows 42% reduction in relapses

A study from South Africa actually showed that 14,000 IU per day can cut the relapse rate by 42%. This beats the MS drugs.

I love vitamin D3.

Scary doctor

Wow, I'm with you. I think some docs do push these drugs too much. I'm glad you said "NO" to chemo. Ridiculous in most cases.

Veggies forever!!!

Good post. I have been thinking about the benefits of veggies lately myself and I couldn't agree with you more that veggies are a woman's (and a guy's) best friend. Not only do veggies enhance the brain, they make you look good and, I think, help avoid unwanted belly fat!!! Getting rid of that belly...

MS Interferon Drugs -- Brain Atrophy and Other Problems

There are two very important studies of which everyone needs to be aware. The first shows that the use of interferons such as Betaseron results in gray matter atrophy (brain shrinkage). Here is a link: < shortened url > The second study shows that when the interferons cause the development of antibo...

I agree Jelinek is the best in the world

Thank you for posting information on Jelinek's web site on MS. His web site is definitely the best web site in the world for those with MS. In his spare time, Professor Jelinek has put together a web site that puts the MS society web sites to shame. Also, Professor Jelinek has MS himself so he is on...

Supplements

I did a web site on what I do for MS since I've never taken any meds. I think we need to do more, though, than just take some supplements. Here's a link to my site. It includes information on the supplements I take. See the tab on my plan. By the way, I think vitamin E supplements should be avoided ...

Interesting thing that so many mention IBS. I have had a problem with that for years. On my way to getting rid of constant diarrhea and loose stools, I gave up dairy, gluten and chicken. It is interesting that it was only when I gave up chicken, that the diarrhea and loose stools finally went away. ...

I am inclined to think many drugs are crap!

Harry Z, it seems we are cut from the same cloth and agree on almost everything. LOL

Sou, I think just walking around, moving my legs when I'm sitting, tapping my toes, etc., works better than any drug. A good stretching program works terrific too as does exercise.

Viva la naturale!

It is counterintuitive but

Exercise helps with both fatigue and cognitive functioning in MS. The research shows this. So, I walk and job and hour five days a week and lift weights 3 days each week. This exercise keeps my bod in decent condition. Also, I notice that sitting on my duff results in sore legs. So, if I keep a move...

One more comment

I actually think some things are necessary in addition to diet to be as healthy as possible. I did a ton of research over the years and came up with a list of things I do--each item on the list is well grounded in scientific medical research. I did a web site and you'll find some info on there about...

Funny thing about neurontin

My neuro suggested meurotin to me once and I researched it, saw a lot of stuff on side effects and said "no thanks". I just did some stretching at night and forgot the drugs. A long time ago I did use baclofen and it was quite effective for me. I took it at night and it actually helped me ...

New aspirin study is underway at Mayo and don't forget

Mayo clinic is currently conducting a full fledged trial on the effectiveness of aspirin in treating MS fatigue. The head MS researcher at Mayo is heading the study. This is fantanstic!!!! It is interesting that aspirin helps prevent clotting and facilitates blood flow--a helpful thing especially if...
