I don't know about your area, but those months coincide with seasonal allergies and high tree/grass pollen counts.

During those months I typically check pollen.com every day to see what my day will be like.

Ugh.

Art and Hollie's Notes From The 2009 AAN Meeting In Seattle

Each year Accelerated Cure Project attends the American Academy of Neurology. We try to take notes on as many presentations as we can, write them up, and make them available on MSNews for anyone to read.

You can see our notes here: http://msnews.acceleratedcure.org/node/3519

The best advice I've heard for frequency/utility of any medical test - including MRIs - came from my neuro who said (and I'm paraphrasing): "If I don't know how the results of this test would cause me to change your clinical care, then I don't do the test." E.g. if your MRI comes back and ...

Turns out that chocolate isn't quite so poisonous to dogs as you indicate. It takes 1.25 *pounds* of chocolate to kill a 20 lb dog http://www.howstuffworks.com/question348.htm My friend's 50 lb dog managed to get into my closed suitcase, pull out a gift wrapped box of chocolates, unwrap it, open the...

MS/TM/NMO/ADEM Scientific Conference for Patients

If you have any interest in seeing some scientific presentations on MS/TM/NMO/ADEM, meeting other patients, and hob-nobbing with researchers, then I highly recommend this symposium: http://www.acceleratedcure.org:8080/node/3187 It's in Seattle July 16 - 19, 2008 and is a great opportunity to learn a...

We ask that question because almost all neurological studies want to know that information. It isn't specific to MS, but could be used for correlating other factors to see if there is a pattern. People who look at MRIs also like to know handedness. Handedness is correlated with many other things, li...

Well, we spoke to folks at his foundation a few days ago and they said he's shopping the show around to other networks, so this may just be tabloid rumor mongering.

While the National Enquirer is a good source for reliable alien siting reportings, it may not be for this case :-)

[Peer review] is a self-governing process that is necessary to avoid dubious data, faulty conclusions, and improper intrepretation of the data. I don't think you can say it is "necessary." You might argue that it is "sufficient," but there are many variations on the concept that...

The researchers fear is that someone else will find out something important about cancer sooner than they would. Explain to me how that is something we should be fearing. Personally, I can't agree with anyone claiming the issues are "complex." It is really straightforward. The purpose of the work of disease research (at least that funded by taxes or charitable contributions) is to ultimately benefit the people with the disease. If you agree the data should ...

I forgot to mention, if you don't meet the criteria above, but have MS, TM, NMO, ADEM, or ON, you can still participate in the repository in general if you can get to one of the sites. Just contact Sara (above) but don't say it is for the NSA project.
