Does dosage have a linear relationship with side effects?

I started out at 1 mg about 3 months ago and didn't notice much of a change, except maybe a bit more weakness or spasticity. After a month, I doubled to 2 mg and am still there. Weakness and spasticity seem to be worse. I initially filled a prescription at 4.5mg, but never took it until I worked my ...

First dose

My doc has prescribed LDN, 4.5 mg, which I will be starting tomorrow. I know everyone reacts differently, but what is the range of things I can expect in the first few doses? Is it better to take in the morning or night time? (I would prefer to take in the morning so I can see how I react.) Thanks!

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions

Here was your original response back in May 2010. Images are in the post above. I have heard recently from astro (hi astro) and after seeing his images, I was wondering about that reflux into the subclavian. If you saw this in a patient of yours, would you investigate the subclavian for a stenosis ...

Great discussion. I'm heading to my neuro check-up next week, and he'll probably order some bloodwork. What test(s) should I suggest he add to get more insight into Collagen/Endothelin angle?

Thanks much.

Not sure what to make of this, but maybe someone can speculate. I did not have tinnitus before my angio, but in the recovery afterwards, I asked the nurse about a dull ear pain in my right ear (I wrote this down at the time in my notes). She dismissed it. The pain came and went over the next week. N...

Thanks for the reply. My level was 340 pg/ml, although it was by blood sample and I'm told they are less accurate than urine MMA (which I plan to get). The lab report from my doc said they want higher than 500 pg/ml, and advised on a 1000mg daily supplement. I'm not so hopeful that I think my MS is ...

there were clear collaterals entering the azygous vein and I suspect one of the collateral may have clotted or otherwise been damaged with ballooning. I think this is an underappreciated risk of the the procedure. A this point in time, I am much worse than pre-angioplasty, but this is largely the r...

B12 tested - low

I was diagnosed with MS back in 2001, but was never tested for B12. Recently, I was prompted to get B12 level checked by several young family members who had recently tested low for B12 (200-300). Their doc (not knowing me) told their mom (my sister) that they should get on supplements since it coul...

Nice images. First, the narrowings are not high grade compared to many others i have seen. What is your EDSS? My EDSS score is 3.5. Given the increased symptoms in my legs since my IJV treatment, however, it has unfortunately been creeping toward 4.0 in the last six weeks. Coincidence? The engineer...

Hi, Dr. Sclafani, First, I want to echo everyone’s appreciation for your work. Thank you for what you are doing! I underwent a venogram and angio of my left and right IJV six weeks ago, and thought I’d share what I think are interesting results and ask a few questions. My venogram was performed base...

I showed up negative on my left IJV, despite having some serious issues on that side, and it was lower down, too.

Don't get discouraged - the experts are on it, and I'm confident the detection process will continue to get better.

My venogram initially showed reflux in my left IJV. Once it was ballooned, the reflux disappeared in the IJV but appeared lower, going into the sub-clavian vein. I have a meeting with my doc to discuss the implications in a week.

Neutralizing antibodies

Has anyone been able to review the recent article on this? I can't tell from the title what the point of the article is.

These are all good ideas, but I'll throw in another possibility... The immune system is still a supporting actor in this play, if only in that it is crossing the BBB to try and fix damage caused by iron/reflux. So it makes sense to me that a relapse could be triggered by any other event which might ...

My doctor first tried to get me on Clonazepam, I believe, but that just seemed like a pretty serious med with some rough side effects. I wanted to try something a bit milder first, and baclofen seemed to be it. I question if baclofen may cause worsening because my use of it seems to correspond with ...
