Back on topic...what did YOUR neurologist say? Mine surprised me. I had recently moved and therefore needed to find a new one in the area. the first one I went to was a disaster. First he said he had nevber head of CCSI, and then when I told him that the originator of the theory was Italian (gasp, a...

I have been thinking of how to reduce this thrombosis rate. part of the strategy should be to reduce the injury to the vein wall. from IVUS i have noted that the vein wall is not narrowed at all. The valve elements INSIDE the vein are malformed and this malformation leads to stenosis because the va...

Yes, that's the same Bruce Trapp, a researcher who changed the paradigm in 1998 regarding axonal damage before myelin degredation in MS...when all the researchers were claiming MS was a disease of the myelin--- Very interesting. I need to do some more background reading. I have been maintaining tha...

A friend asked by pm how to get started with Dr. Sclafani. Here's their website with the registration form at the bottom and the email to send it in: www.americanaccesscare.com/ccsvi.html The Del Mar Vein Clinic is part of his network, is that the one you're thinking of? Thanks, Cece. As always, yo...

Dr Thanaporn's mouse model is still under development. The mice developed gait disturbances after 6 weeks of blocking their jugular veins, however the severity was significant but not disabling. The next step is trying to compare it or incorporate it to EAE. The funny part will be the testing of im...

I believe Dr. Sinan mentioned 2% restenosis at the July symposium. Dr. Arata was telling his patients 0% restenosis this fall but then bumped it up to 1%. These numbers would be fantastic and I find them exciting but unsupported. Hopefully the data is coming. :) edited to add, here is the video of ...

Re: grafting to replace a long, thin jugular?
yes it could be done. the problem is the durability of those stents. I have some questions about stents in veins. Is there any history of stents collapsing/cracking/squezzing patially shut in veins? Is a series of short stents back-to-back sometimes used instead of a long stent? Hi fogdweller, I po...

Re: grafting to replace a long, thin jugular?
Hi Dr S, Is it feasible to replace a long, thin IJV that has a long, thin (8x80!!) stent? I see articles on bovine replacements.. has this work progressed to be useful to humans? yes it could be done. the problem is the durability of those stents. I have some questions about stents in veins. Is the...
