Re: Tysabri Law Suit
Isn't there a black box warning that PML may develop along with papers you have to sign acknowledging that? Sounds like a tough law suit to win. Sorry to hear about anyone developing PML but it's something we are all warned about.

The charge to the insurance co. is probably the unnegotiated rate. Insurance companies usually have a negotiated rate set at the beginning of the year. Since this is the first bill, your insurance will probably submit the negotiated rate and settle things for future bills. Your charges too will most...

My MRI actually showed a few lesions on the spine. I do not have noticeable symptoms because of it. In the meantime, I climbed to the top of the Swiss Family Robinson tree at Disney World and had a great time there. A year and a half ago, I was contemplating shopping for a wheelchair. Eight months a...

That sounds great. I am going this week to get my first MRI since starting Tysabri in July. I was not expecting improvement in existing symptoms some of which I've had for 5 years. I am now able to curl my toes and walk freely. My EDSS has gone from a 5 to a 2 doing self-evaluation. I keep my expect...

It was approved and can be gotten as a first line of therapy without having to go through other medications first. With its history, it may be difficult to find a doctor who will prescribe it without having tried one of the other medications first. I thought I'd have to go through a series of tests ...

Interesting Tysabri analysis
I came across this blog that gives a good, easy to read analysis of Tysabri. Despite the conflict of interest, it is very fair.

I think doctors in the US are more willing to give IV rather than pills when it's not cost preventative. I've read that high doses of prednisone is often given in other countries and is the norm. Ruthie, you should talk about doing pulse IV steroids every 3-4 months for 3 days. This seems to becomin...

I am the other person that Sarah mentioned above (thanks for sharing). I started ABX treatment 4 months ago and had two pseudoexcacerbations causing me to miss a week of work each time. My treatment did not follow the protocol as outlined. I started Doxy and a month later got on Flagyl and started A...

So, like I begged and whined to my company that I really wanted a fancy PDA/phone. I thought it would help me keep track of things and deal with my MS shortcomings. At first, they gave me an old one, a Treo 300. I liked it okay but the funny thing is that one day I left it on top of the van when I w...

28 months on Avonex. After 6 months, the side f/x faded but now I go through phases where they come back for a few weeks. But now, they are not as drastic as they were in the beginning. Advice: Find a routine that works for you and stick to it. Find out what works better between advil and tylenol. I...

What makes you think we are some years off for an oral treatment? I know I am overly optimistic. Once this gets approved for organ transplants, doctors can start prescribing it off-label for MS. Before the delay, speculation was that it would be available early next year off-label. This delay pushes...
