Re: Wahls diet discussion

Hi Trent,

From Dr. Wahl's book (pg. 181 in my copy):

1 cup = small banana, apple, chopped raw vegetables, 1/2 cup cooked vegetables, 2 cups leafy greens (i.e. spinach, romaine, or kale), 1 teaspoon spirulina or chlorella or blue green algae.

toenail fungus

I have the fungus in both big toenails. Because of past liver problems, I made the decision not to take the drugs. It has meant regular visits to a podiatrist for several years now because my pedicurist was no longer comfortable cutting these toenails. It has been a long time since I had the ability...

I've never had my levels tested but I'm fighting a running battle with gout. Acute attacks of gout are painful beyond belief and cause my feet and legs to jump in the air, once even pulling me out of bed. I can't walk but I stand to transfer and a gout attack makes that almost impossible. Finally, I...

Hi all, I started seeing a new chiropractor in Feb., 2007 after reading this: http://www.meningealrelease.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=37&Itemid=80 I went twice a week for the first year and once a week since then. I am SPMS, at EDSS 8.0+. He adjusts my neck and my lu...

niacin

I've been taking niacin for several years now. I started at 500 mg per day, upped it to 1000 at some point and have taken 1500 for the last 8 months. I have never noticed any side effects other than the occasional flush but after reading your post, I did a little research and will probably cut back ...

Euromedic

Hi Pam, All in all, I'm happy with the care I received. I am EDSS 8.0 and if there are others up there on the scale who are going, I urge you to strongly request to keep someone with you at the clinic overnight. That was the worst part of the stay for me - 9 hours alone and unable to move with no ca...

Advice on travelling with power wheelchair to Katowice?

I'm flying Vancouver-Frankfurt-Katowice with my Quantum 6000 power chair on June 20. I've flown once with a different chair (Vancouver-Calgary return) and there was trouble on both flights. I do not want to be in Katowice with a broken chair! Any advice? If you have experience or observations of hav...

How many of you have not made adjustments to your life in an attempt to improve your circulation since learning of Zamboni's findings? I've adjusted my supplements, added some peppermint tea each day, sleep on an inclined bed, have acupuncture treatments and an external application as well. All thes...

I had exactly that diagnosis in my left jugular on May 17 at FCSC. I was told that Dr. Simka would balloon based on this evidence.

Luckily, I now have an appt. in Poland on June 23/24. I hope I will be able to give you more information after that.

CMMS

I, for one, do not have time to reform the CMSS nor am I interested. We need to be setting up our own clinics and start treating people ASAP. I believe CCSVI Calgary is working in that direction. We need some brave IRs to step forward and agree to work with us. We need to train them in Italy and the...

clinical trials

I think all this talk about clinical trials is a tactic by the MS industry to bury CCSVI forever. How many of us have symptoms that can be objectively measured? I can no longer walk and they have never tried to quantify my fatigue, numbness, the pain in my limbs, spasticity, bladder urgency etc. I a...

temperature

I usually come in at 36.1 or 36.2 (today 35.9). The warmer I am, though, the more I lose function. I have gotten used to thinking of my lower temperature as a good thing - an adjustment my body has made to tamp down the inflammations.

It appears it is too late to shift gears this time so City Hall it is. I saw that it is planned from 11:00 - 2:00 and I'll post again if I hear anything different. At least it is across the street from Canada Diagnostic Centre - the place that is refusing to scan on the advice of the MS Society.

I think we should meet at the Art Gallery as City Hall makes no sense at all. It is not just a protest for Vancouver but for the whole Lower Mainland. Why should someone from Burnaby etc. come to Vancouver City Hall? The Art Gallery is a venue for regional protests. As to time, I've heard only 10:00...
