Re: Article on CCSVI in Veins and Lymphatics 2020; Volume 9:9053

Glad to see these studies. It was said at the time Brave Dreams reported that there was no control for venoplasty that failed to re-stablish flow. And when that was taken into account retrospectively there was a clear improvement for those where it was successful. Not what the Pharma's wanted to hea...

Re: CCSVI dead - surely an apology needed from Cheerleader

I haven't posted for a long time and I have not read all of this thread. And I really don't want to put people off posting whatever they want to. But arguments about the efficacy of any treatment for MS are a bit pointless when MS itself cannot even be precisely defined. What particular symptom or s...

Re: CCSVI RESEARCH here

"• The venous anatomy of the neck in patients without MS demonstrates multiple variants • Asymmetry and stenoses of the internal jugular veins are common • Collateral neck veins are not uncommon in patients without MS • These findings do not support the theory of chronic cerebrospinal venous in...

Re: cheerleader cited in scholarly paper

I have just read the links in your last post. Yours and Anne Kingston's efforts are excellent. I love to see diligent informed and intelligent amateurs take the 'experts' to task. Jock Murray's chapter sounds very authoritative but you are clearly right that he is misreporting Putnam's work. Shamefu...

Re: Study suggests MS not linked to CCSVI

Most of this kind of research really has very little merit. Many seem almost designed to find nothing and do not surprise when they don't. The real problem is thinking of an experiment which would be convincing either way. Because of operator variability the ultrasound can always be interpreted as i...

Re: New research- UV rays, nitric oxide and MS symptom relie

I think I too might have overlooked the Nitric Oxide effect. We have had a few weeks of poor sun and I have used my booth occasionally for it's original purpose. I have done so at the end of the day on days we had no sun. I felt better after 15 mins in the booth (I always did) and I thought I slept ...

Re: New research- UV rays, nitric oxide and MS symptom relie

Although this thread has gone on to discuss other things I thought I would post my final results. I have done over 8 weeks doing 15 mins a day in my tanning booth and it has also been quite sunny outside and I have been out a lot. But my final blood test showed 64 nmol/l ! Which is slightly less tha...

Re: RE REFLECTIONS ON THE CANADIAN STUDY ON CCSVI

Thanks for the link. An interesting read. I think their point about the prolonged time to clear contrast which is ignored by Traboulsee is significant and I was pleased they made the same point I did about aggregating their results. But I don't think it will do much to change the hype which was pedd...

Re: New research- UV rays, nitric oxide and MS symptom relie

I nearly decided to stop reporting on this as I am not getting very interesting results. But I hate to leave things unfinished so here goes. I have finished the period I was doing 10 mins a day and I have been tested. The results were 67 nm/l ! So the three results I have are 66, 53 and 67. That loo...

Re: NEW BLINDED STUDY FINDS CCSVI ASSOCIATED WITH MS

You seem to have grasped what I was trying to say despite my poor explanation. I am glad. But I should say one other thing about Traboulsee's results. He had two sets of data from different sites: British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The two data sets looked quite different and Traboulsee just went ah...

Re: NEW BLINDED STUDY FINDS CCSVI ASSOCIATED WITH MS

Having re-read this thread I thought I ought to give Rogan a reply about Traboulsee's P values. The general idea of all statistical tests as 1eye says is to judge whether the results could have reasonably been due to chance or not. So it is like odds in horse-racing. If the odds of your results occu...

Re: NEW BLINDED STUDY FINDS CCSVI ASSOCIATED WITH MS

Traboulsee really is a clown and his research is shameful but what worries me more is that he is now proposing to do venoplasty on unsuspecting pwMS without having any means to either detect or measure stenosis nevermind intra-luminal or valvular defects. This is utterly without any ethical basis. H...

Re: Thyroid & MS

I believe the thyroid normally drains thru two veins one of which goes to each IJV. So it is possible in CCSVI to have a collateral circle which reverses the middle thyroid vein drainage so that instead of flowing into the IJV blood from the IJV flows thru the thyroid and out thru the inferior thyro...
