MJ is a drug like other drugs. But unfortunately it carries a stigma with it that prevents some from realizing this. Scientific studies have been carried out on MJ for many years and several benefits have been discovered. But like any other drug there have been pros and cons.Deadheadgrateful wrote:But not in ND!

Re: Deaths overshadow ocrelizumab trials in MS
Not really. There is always a risk/reward assessment in meds. MS patients tend to accept a much higher risk level than some other diseases. Unfortunately they do because to date, there certainly isn't any cure and the current meds are not all that effective. This increases the frustration level of ...

Re: Scientist Claims She Is On The Verge Of Curing MS
Not quite the right thread, and I may be behind the curve, but has anyone heard of anything in the pipeline concerning the use of CRISPR technology in the treatment of MS. I've been reading articles and watching videos on the treatment of viral infections with CRISPR, and in one study complete (no ...

Re: Scientist Claims She Is On The Verge Of Curing MS
I was diagnosed in 1985 and MS was known as "The Disease who's time had come" with a cure right around the corner...I'm still waiting  I am definitely not holding my breath on this person  My wife (passed away in 2007 ) was diagnosed in 1971. I can't tell you how many times...

Re: Feeling Betrayed by the MS Society of Canada
I am typically not active in forums however in this instance I feel compelled to speak up. I recently learned that the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada closing the doors to the MS Centre located in Victoria Canada. The Centre has been open for over 40 years and has become the home to many provi...

Re: New to MS. Recently started Tecfidera and only got worse
DMDs typically prevent future relapses I believe that the people who make the DMDs state that these drugs reduce the number of relapses by about 30%. So over a 2 year period, if you were to suffer 3 relapses, these would be reduced to 2. With the cost of these drugs along with the side effects, not...

Re: Experimental drug shows promise in MS treatment
A new experimental drug has shown promise in treating multiple sclerosis in mice model. Study author Dr. Scott Zamvil said, “This study has given us more insight into how laquinimod works. But because this was an animal study, more research needs to be done before we know if it could have similar r...

Re: PEOPLE OVER 70 WITH MS
Hi Leonard You're right, most doctors don't know that DMDs don't work for PPMS, even a few neurologists. Is "chemo/HSCT" the process where they kill off your immune system with chemo and then reboot it with stem cells? You could probably get it done in Mexico or other 3rd world country. B...

Re: Ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) not the answer in PPMS - far from
The theory (and it is no more than a theory) that MS has anything to do with an overactive immune system, will, soon I hope, be consigned to history's rubbish-heap. It may dawn on people that there is a good reason why decades of money-spending have had little effect. There is good, powerful scient...

Hey Cheer,
Yep, pretty close to fossil status these days
What is also alarming when it comes to PML is that these drug companies continue to pump out new monoclonal antibody MS medications...and we all know what they will do to the immune system!

I wonder which one is more accurate. Re: New study: blood flow, brain atrophy & MS
Patients with MS had a significant decrease of cerebrovascular reactivity compared with controls. This decrease in CRV correlated to gray matter atrophy, but did not correlate with white matter lesions. Cheer, This info will not bode well with the white matter lesion measurements that the main MS d...

Re: How many of you have Amalgam fillings
I had a urine test to check the mercury but it was within the limits so they never considered that to be a problem. I had hair analysis done and the mercury didn't seem to be a problem So how did you come to the conclusion that you had too much mercury in your system from the amalgam fillings? They...
