Re: Why do hsct bloggers stop posting around the one year ma

Well I guess saying anything meaningful about an MS treatment and attributing a casual relationship to the treatment will require a comprehensive analysis of each individual case and the particular protocol used. In my case (PPMS) HSTC in Heidelberg seemed to have had a positive effect in the first ...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

Hi, in response to the following PM: I was wondering how you were doing post-HSCT? Are you in remission or have you relapsed? Interesting to observe that there may be 2 different MS mechanisms at play: On the upside, the inflammatory character of my MS has vanished. Impaired speech, swallowing, fati...

Amazing and hopeful

Re: So how is life after HSCT?

Pawel, the sole purpose of HSTC it to reboot the immune system. If HSTC succeeds in doing so, there will be no need to take immune-suppressors. Having said this, like anything else in life, there is no 100%% guarantee HSTC will work, either in the long run or at all. This depends on a host of factor...

But you see, it will take some time before this technology is ripe for therapeutic purposes.

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

I sincerily hope/believe that differentiated 'neural stem cells' and improved delivery methods that get the stem cells to an area that needs to be fixed will do the trick.

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

26 months since HSCT and 9 moths post MSC transplantation. Apart for my right leg that has somewhat declined since HSCT, overall I can report that I am now stable and feeling reasonably good. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/265884.php http://www.stemcellresearchnews.com/absolutenm/anmviewer...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

This is not only growing, but I would say, it is well known. At CTCI, they DO NOT recommend HSCT if you do not have active lesions and if there is no significant differences in MRIs. You are fully right that MS is an enigma and it is really good that you drew attentions to these things that patient...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

Three months to the Msc's and nearly 2 years to the HSCT treatment. Would the disease have progressed faster if I had not taken the treatments? Your guess is as good as mine. Apart for very short lived improvements the disease has not stopped and certainly was not "cured". Here are my take...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

Msc's before HSCT is putting the cart before the horse. HSCT is nothing more than chemo, safely administered to millions around the world. I can't see how MAC's can stop or alter the course of an active disease. But it's your money and your ms, wish you good luck.

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

L x, this is what I wrote on Feb. the 1st: This what I wrote someone, only reflecting my humble opinion formed by what I read, experienced and heared from professionals: "SPMS is a turning point where MS turns into a different disease. Chances HSCT will make a difference in a disease with no in...

Re: My CtrlAltDel - Status

As promised, here is my nearly 1 month update of my MSC's infusion: On the bright side - Issue focussing my sight on an object is resolved. It seems like sight in my right eye that deteriorated due to optic neuritis has improved. - Better energy, improved stamina (staying power) of I estimate 20-30%...
