Hello again....I know Astelin, which is a nasal spray, is not a steroid. Advair is. I hate drugs, but the Astelin, in particular, has been very helpful. I hate to think where I'd be without it. It is also not considered habit forming. The Advair...I'm not sold on it, but my pulmonologist is. I may a...

Diane, I am RIGHT there with you when you say, Docs get on their highhorse sometime and so do people in general. Thing is that I often feel (this is terrible to admit) that I'd love to let the doc and others experience 'me' (how I feel) for awhile. Maybe that will wake them up to reality. In fact, ...

I'm afraid I don't agree with you that MS can be reversed (the damage) at this time. I don't get the feeling that there is any magic bullet in the works; lots of experimental stuff, but so far no results. I think of Annette Funicello as an example of a person who had the means to explore various tre...

Sinus issues are complicatec

Welcome, Diane. We older folks have lots of experience to share; I look forward to your contributions to this website. I am intrigued by your mention of sinus problems, as MANY with MS have remarked about the same situation. Does your physician or ENT have any suggestions for reducing the sinus dra...

Aging

I respect your opinion, but 40ish (Dana's age) is not old. I felt so much better at 40 than 65. I do think MS has impacted me, but my family doc is always saying 'don't let MS be an excuse'. Irks me a bit as he doesn't have MS. Docs get on their highhorse sometime and so do people in general. Thing ...

Diane -- I feel like I am following you around this evening; but, believe me, I am not a stalker. Here, your mention of "hypothyroid" is not a surprise; it has been found that people with one "autoimmune disease" frequently develop a second one, or even a third one. The American...

replies here are scarce it seems!

I just noticed there are a lot of posts which date to early 2004 and 2005. Got me to wondering if this is an active site. It's frustrating to not get any response. Anyway....my reflexes are very quick. My neuro says that is typical of MS. When he taps my knee he'd better be standing to the side! I h...

Inability to concentrate and focus

:? I've found a sometimes inexplicable problem with concentration. I drift off when I'm listening to someone (embarrasing). I irk my dh sometimes as he'll be telling me something and notice I'm not fully engaged in what he's saying. I also get distracted easily or find it hard to complete tasks. My...
