Re: Nature of Things

Personally, the more Dr Murray and Dr. T. spoke, the worse they sounded. I think thay expose to the average viewer just what we are up against.

Re: Nature of Things

I was worried about watching that show. Had it all been about "poor MSers and their desperation to seek help no matter what the financial and perhaps medical cost might be" I would have been angry. That would have shot any chance of sleep last night as it was on just before bed. In the end...

Re: Canadians CAN claim for CCSVI expenses

Technically you are supposed to have a written statement from a doctor indicating that the procedure is not available in Canada. It does not have to state that the doctor feels that the procedure is required. My husband and I both travelled to Egypt in 2010 and claimed all expenses. Because the clai...

Re: Heavy legs

Although it is not my only problem, I certainly can relate to "heavy legs".

We are not contagious. We can donate blood because they said, not one case of MS was ever found in a spouse of a PwMS. Unless, of course, they married a person known to have MS prior to their marriage . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was told by Canadian Blood Services that I can...

I am suspicious of the BNAC research because of the way they have presented their results so far. They have slanted the wording of the results to the neurologists and to the media so that they prematurely state CCSVI is not the cause of MS. The results of their admittedly flawed methodolgy has been ...

I had the procedure on a Friday morning and flew on Sunday. If I were you, I would allow myself a few extra days. I would not have felt up to flying on the Saturday. I required a lot of medication during the procedure and was tired and "out of it" the next day.

Best of luck!

As an insurance broker in Winnipeg, I would highly recommend that you check the wordings of any travel insurance policy prior to purchase. Make sure that they do not exclude coverage when you specifically travel for a medical procedure. Travel insurance was never meant to cover complications from a ...

Interesting to hear that perhaps I'm not alone.

I slept soundly last night and can tandem walk 10 steps!

I think I'll stop questionning how this is all possible and just enjoy!

Thanks for the info!

Is there such a thing as temporary restenosis???

I had my CCSVI procedure on Jul 9/10. Over the course of the next 2 months, I had the following improvements: 1.) My foot was no longer purple. 2.) I could wiggle my toes. 3.) I had feeling in my feet. 4.) I could tandem walk up to 19 steps at a time (that was my record). 5.) I was no longer dizzy w...

I see 2 neurologists. Prior to going for the procedure, the one at the MS Clinic compared the treatment to bee stings. When I returned and he could measure the actual improvements, he said "But how long will it last?" Prior to the procedure, my 2nd neurologist said that he was too old to g...

My husband and I were treated in Alexandria, Egypt in July. We headed to Cairo 3 days later to see some pyramids. Dr. Tariq said not to overdo it. "Heat is your enemy". It was over 40 degrees celcius. My husband did not fare well with the heat at all! I suggest that you not push yourself r...
