Hi Shaight. I'm on Avonex. I chose because its only one shot a week. I have/had a severe needle phobia. It took a lot of working through to learn to self inject. But I got there.....Smokey

Update: I've had four jabs now and the "advertised" side effects are all there. 8 to 24 hours after the treatment I get headaches, high temperatures and chills and shivering, lasts abot 8 hours followed by a couple of days of feeling completely wipped out. The good news I suppose is that ...

Thanks Cheer. I was puzzling over the results. I read the paper and just couldn't make sense of the conclusion. Very strange logic here.

Hi, it took a few months for the side effects to settle. Shivers, feeling seriously BLAH, and intense stomach aches. When I first injected, the side effects lasted about 12 hours. They still do but are a lot less intense. Usually. Occasionally I still get a bad reaction. I use Panadol.

Thanks for the replies :) In the injection instruction DVD they day to use the middle third of the thigh, is the upper thrid easier to do it in or do you guys use both to allow more variation of sites? Also, has anyone experienced nausea as a side effect? I seem to get constant nausea, not intense ...

Hi everyone, I've just started taking avonex, I've had 2 injections so far & only half doses to wean me onto it. The nurse said the top outer quadrant of the buttock is a good place and the most comfortable, the 2 injections I've had so far were on each buttock and the next 2 will be the thighs...
