I take 1000 mg of lion's mane daily, plus a little powder in my coffee. It has only been a few weeks, but I have noticed that I am stronger and more confident in some actions. I'm hoping to continue on this track!

Re: Co Enzyme Q10
I always take 1 pill (100 mg) of the ubiquinol in the morning, and another 1 in the late afternoon/early eve. I take the other pills when I think about it, usually 1 around noon and 1 at bedtime. Some with food, some without--my body doesn't seem to care. One thing to note: mail order ubiquinol pill...

Re: Co Enzyme Q10
I take 300-400 mg of ubiquinol (Co-Q10) per day and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY with getting up out of my wheelchair and confidently transferring to the car, shower, etc. It took a few months to take effect, but now if I miss a couple of days, I really notice the increased weakness. The other thing t...

Re: A question for US Republicans with MS
maynaka, I'm ambivalent about public figures, such as Michelle Obama and JK Rowling (another of my heroes), taking up support for MS research. Why? Because they so often throw their powerful voices behind the national societies, which are of questionable value to many of us MSers. (I'm PPMS and so p...

A question for US Republicans with MS
How strange is it that two of the front runners for the Republican nomination have wives (or ex-wife, in one case) with MS? I'm just wondering how Romney & Gingrich's responses to their wives' MS (one stayed, one left) are influencing the decisions of Republican primary voters who either have MS...

My eye issues, FWIW
About the time I was DX in 2001, I had a lot of trouble adjusting to light changes. I'd come in from the sunshine & have trouble focusing for about 10 minutes. Eventually I realized that my left eye dilates and contracts at a different pace than my right eye. It still happens, tho much less seve...

NY Times article on bacteria & Vitamin B
There's an article in the NY Times (subscription) http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/21/science/21gut.html?_r=1&ref=health that describes how people can be divided into three groups or enterotypes by their gut bacteria, and how the main differentiator is how B vitamins are absorbed/produced: "D...

Other B vitamins
I followed the Klenner protocol for about 4 years, off and on, with no real improvement. (It may have slowed deterioration, but that's hard to measure.) Since my hands won't do injections anymore, I tried B1 pills, but they don't sit well in my stomach. What I've found is that I need B1 and the OTHE...

It's hard for me to answer this poll. I was the first CCSVI patient at PI and had restenosis of the IJVs after my first procedure in June. However, I had a second procedure in August with much bigger balloons (up to 20 mm) and don't seem to have any restenosis after almost 4 months. When and how are...
