Is Dr. Sclafani still around?

Have been trying to get ahold of him. Former patient question.

Last post I saw from him was a few months ago, but saw someone say they had the procedure from him fairly recently as well.

Hoping to see ... had sent him a PM.

If anyone could get ahold of him - it'd be much appreciated.

take note of Magoo's treatment areas by Dr. McGuckin ... azygous ... and her results she posted in her personal thread. Another one. Though it appears many of her veins were treated. Sorry, Dr. S for semi-hi-jacking your thread with this thought. I just think it's too coincidental at this point. Sim...

I meant what I said about being divided on what to do. Seeking out an IR to stent the azygous would be on the list of hard choices. Leaving it be would also be a hard choice. I do not envy such a situation.... Do you know if this phasic azygous for sure has reflux? This would have been seen on the ...

It is important not to treat unnecessarily; there are a few people who have clotted or scarred in their azygous and lost that vein. (I only know of two.) Both suffered a worsening in their MS and mobility. This would be a particularly tragic consequence if it was a physiological or unnecessary area...

Well, that's only sort of true. In the initial treatment, it was only the azygous and the iliac (MT) treated. During your procedure it was only the jugulars treated. - no azygous and no iliac. So, there is some potential for confounding variables ... but not due to the jugular veins being treated a...

Redacted ---- until I still wonder about this ... just from a results standpoint. That phasic narrowing - or at least the azygous in question in this post - was treated once, with SIGNIFICANT (can't capitalize that enough) results that held briefly. A second time mentioned here it was viewed, but i...

When something is clearly phasic, i wonder when it is justified to treat. Have you ever come across a CCSVI narrowing that you determined to be phasic yet considered it to be justified to treat? I remember a patient of yours with an odd azygous, with a phasic narrowing. Here it is: www.thisisms.com...

I've been away for a while ... so no I hadn't. Thanks. It's very interesting ...

Still would be interested in knowing the answer to my question though ... (not sure why, just interested I guess).

Dr. Sclafani, Are the external jugular veins also tested for CCSVI? I know that they have not proven to be a regular problem but what about for the people like myself who have lost hearing in one ear? And at times even my good ear rings and pops and feels plugged like my bad one does all of the tim...

You all need to get the CCSVI alliance (isn't this what they're here for) to get involved. This whole thing just stinks of "big business" ... If health insurance isn't for "health" purposes ... I'm not sure what good it is then. I mean what's next? Denying you getting a broken ar...

I just want to be clear ...

this thread (and its participants) is talking about clotting or complete occlusion not just re-stenosis.

Right?

Cece, I went back through, and during your procedure there was a use of oversized balloons (2mm if I did the math properly). That would be the 10% oversizing that is within normal practice for other procedures too. But with the big balloons, the IRs have gone way beyond 10%. I see, I guess I just w...

Cece, I went back through, and during your procedure there was a use of oversized balloons (2mm if I did the math properly). I'm not sure what "oversized" truly means to the resident Dr.s at TIMS to tell you the truth. Would be interested in hearing ... Maybe we need a "Questions for ...

QUESTION for those with thrombosis or occlusion

What symptoms did you have that led you to believe you had thrombosis or occlusion of your jugular veins following CCSVI liberation? Not MS symptoms (necessarily) ... but those related to your jugulars being thrombosed or occluded? I'm thinking Dania, Vivavie and Newlywed ... all have had this ... I...

I think Dania's case ... as bad as it may seem just goes to show that there is something to the theory of CCSVI. Her veins are now closed ... and her MS is worse. When her veins were open ... her symptoms abated. She's right ... the key is getting better procedures and things in place. So like I sai...
