Re: Tecfidera users: favour please?

I have the 240 mg capsule on hand and it's 7/8 of an inch long and 1/4 of an inch wide. As I recall the 120 mg capsule looked identical.

Re: For those of you thinking about starting on Tecfidera

Actually, I don't even need to take Tec with a meal anymore. No flushing, no GI problems.

Re: **IMPORTANT** PML & Tecfidera

I get tested every 6 months for JC Virus. So far negative, but if I ever test positive, I know I'll be looking at other treatments. I think you should definitely inquire.

I have never heard of this, but I am so sorry for what you're going through. Best of luck.

Re: Tecfidera vs no med

I was diagnosed in 2004 after exacerbations that I fully recovered from. No exacerbations since. I am very active and eat very well. I had always been very healthy. Despite my reluctance to rely on medication, I went on Rebif right away. My neuro convinced me, with the help of some graphs, that even...

Re: Phase I trial data for remyelinating antibody in MS rele

Science magazine has an informative article about so-called natural antibodies, including rHIgM22. Fascinating. And reminds me that we understand so so little about the immune system! http://www.sciencemag.org/content/347/6226/1058.full

Re: 120 mg or 240mg Tecfidera dose

Excellent question. I had the same question for my neuro when I was on Rebif because I seem to have a mild disease course. The answer was: "MS is a nasty disease; if you're tolerating the higher dose, why would you want to mess around?" I'm on Tec these days and I do wonder the same thing....

Re: thinking of quitting Rebif, what to try next?

I tolerated Rebif well for 10+ years until my skin developed enough scar tissue to make injections a real drag. I was hesitant to switch to anything different because I was doing really well symptom-wise. Finally, I switched about 9 months ago to Tecfidera. So far I'm very happy that I did, still no...

Re: does it get worse before getting better

I didn't experience any MS-like symptoms when starting Tec. I just felt incredibly lousy (nausea and fatigue) for about 4 days after starting the full dose.

Re: Skin reaction

I believe that's "lipoatrophy" occurring. To my knowledge, it doesn't go away. I've also been told to avoid injecting into those spots. I also used my buttocks and belly but I rotated so that each region had at least 4 weeks of rest. I kept careful track of this, but it wasn't hard to do b...

I recently stopped taking Rebif and did not have a withdrawal, but I started up with Tecfidera right after.

Re: Rebif and Red Spots

My advice is to get used to the red spots. They hang around a few weeks before fading; some itch and some don't. I never found any way to avoid them. But try to massage with a warm compress after a shot to speed up dispersion of the medication and to discourage forming of scar tissue (lumps). For pa...

Re: Question on benign MS

Steve, me too. Diagnosed 2004 and on Rebif ever since. No progression in MRIs, no symptoms to speak of. Initial symptoms were numbness and a spasm in my face but the only times I've felt an eye twitch or a numb toe, it was short lived and was when I was fatigued and stressed. I'm also eager to get o...

Re: potential health implications of glyphosate (roundup)

Above link is to a review article in the journal Entropy that describes a number of ways the herbicide Roundup (which is often used in conjunction with GMO crops that are designed with "Roundup ready" resistance) can facilitate onset and progression of various diseases, including (albeit j...
