Deterioration with time

The following text comes from a prominent University here in the U.S.: The clinical course of MS is unpredictable. Neurologists are not able to foresee which newly diagnosed patients will have a benign course, who will have attacks, or who will gradually progress. Nonetheless, studies of large numbe...

Site pain/reactions

It took a study tell us something many of us already knew. I've been on Betaseron for 2+ years now. Have never had problems with site reactions or pain. Have had an occasional systemic reaction though(flu like symptoms). Never enough to even consider switching though. The general consensus within th...

The R.D.A. for vit. D is 400 i.u. per day. The only difference between the skin produced sun exposure and supps. is the skin source is self limiting, you can't get an overdose by excessive sun exposure. Oral supps. bypass this and an overdose would be possible, however much that would take?? Overdos...

Betaseron

1) longest history here in US. No unexpected side effects. (ie: PML & Tysabri) 2) Short needle vs. Avonex 3) Less site pain and reactions compared to Rebif 4) Copaxone is every day. These were my deciding factors. My wife is a pharmacist so I also get feedback from her.....and she hears it from ...

Diet

NEWS FLASH !!! Been doing the Swank diet since April. Feel great! compared to how I was. No exacerbations, some mild return of symptoms in times of stress, and believe me, it's been a very stressful summer! Biggest shocker......recently had a physical, just the yearly thing....you know. Did basic bl...

JFH, acetaminophen is Tylenol generic name. No other additives. I would assume you will be titrating your dose starting @ 1/4. I wouldn't start taking Tylenol until you learn you if really need it. I do my inj. between 9:00 and 10:00 @ night, in bed usually by 10:30 or 12:00, and seldom even need me...

Lipids

Last time I had my cholesterol checked, I was at 208. Couldn't tell you my HDL or LDL's without digging out my labs though. Your improvement is substantial! Congrats! Duel benefits from the statin huh? So you really don't know what had the most effects. Mark, What I find remarkable is how similar ou...

Pregnancy

I know I have recently run across a study about pregnancy and MS. Although not the exact article, here is a link to National MS Society article posted recently. Just some reading, no real answers. Isn't that the NMSS anyhow?

Glad to see!

I have read many "success" stories regarding diets, sat fats, MS,....etc,etc. Unfortunately, it seem most of them have always come from women. Finally!! A success story coming from one of us guys! Just some food for thought( low sat. fat food of course  ). Perhaps your success is rel...

I can relate to all the questions you are asking. I too have questioned how people can lose there symptoms during specific "events". I don't know that there is a positive answer to this. The conclusion I have drawn is this, in laymans terms..... With the exception of "black holes"...

Antibiotics

I suppose you could get by without ever seeing a Dr. I was always under the impression that you needed a prescription even for internet orders. There is always the fear that you're getting what you think you're getting too. I guess I'm just a little bit scared to get involved in that regimen without...

See!!

In past posts I've mentioned that there are probably many trials and research projects currently active that we don't even know about. I think this was directed at Bromley. Case in point, I'd never heard of this before! We all tend to concentrate on new drug development, with the thousands already o...
