Re: CCSVI in two days
How much is due to CCSVI, to the normal stages of MS, to LDN, to Betaserone (in my 3rd month of that when it starts to become effective), or even to diet, is simply unknowable. No one can use me in a study as I have tried so many different things! My understanding of Betaseron may be different than...

Re: latest BNAC research
The Siskin study plus my own experience suggest to me that the ultrasound is useless for detecting CCSVI. And even if it did work acceptably in the jugulars it cannot see anything in the azygos. You would still need to do the venogram for the azygos. So why bother? Just go straight to the venogram ...

Nice job Marc. I have been interviewed a couple of times and I find it very difficult to put my thoughts together in front of a camera. You did a great job.

Re: Nature of Things
I enjoyed the show. It was a bit out-of-date but it was for the general public, not for us on TIMS. I noticed that they changed the name of the documentary from the more sensational title that many of here on TIMS complained about a few months ago. I think the best quote was another great observatio...

Re: 18 months of "progress" in the 7 MS Society imaging stud
Cheer, I totally agree on the value of the study at Case Western. It was inaccurate for me to state that these studies are "wasting" millions of dollars. That's my frustration talking. I believe that all these studies are important and will contribute to the body of knowledge that we so de...

Re: 18 months of "progress" in the 7 MS Society imaging stud
These studies frustrate the hell out of me. The studies themselves are fine, it is the groups that control the funding and decide on the direction of research that drives me crazy. Dr. Zamboni found the improving the drainage from the brain in people who had MS resulted in many of them having signif...

Re: MarkW' on stents in the long run
My prediction is that the use of stents will be perfected and made safe and will be used in all patients as the only way to insure the veins stay open. Of course, this is just a guess!MarkW wrote:My prediction is that their use will die out due to the complications currently seen.

Re: How are you doing since treatment??
has she been tested since her treatment? if she shows any signs of CCSVI then i would consider a second treatment. She has not been tested because we don't see any value in the travel and expense of getting tested unless we have already decided to do something about the results. If we are not willi...

Re: How are you doing since treatment??
Thanks Doug, that is a great story. It gives me hope. Having that kind of improvement on a second treatment is not the norm. I am very happy for you both. Dr. S is definitely the one we would go to if we decide to try again. As my brave wife deteriorates, the reasons for trying again become more and...

Re: How are you doing since treatment??
my partner woke me up at 5:00 this morning. said she couldn't sleep. i asked why? "cause I'm walking like a normal" no weakness, no numbness, no balance issues. this is 3 months post treatment (second treatment) she was so excited she danced a little jig Hi Doug. I'm not familiar with you...

Re: How are you doing since treatment??
Hi Magoo. Your early posts here on TIMS were very inspirational. My wife had the procedure 13 months ago. She had moderate improvements in balance and major improvements in fatigue. The biggest improvement was with her recurring neuropathic pain in her left arm. This sever pain has stumped numerous ...
