Anyone in Charleston, SC have a doctor they like?
I've been to two neurologists here in Charleston and am not happy with either of them. I'd like to avoid switching every year, so I'm hoping to find some referrals to other doctors on the area. Anyone have any suggestions? I have been to MUSC and Tidewater Neurology and do not like either one. So fr...

Re: Any doctor recommendations in the Charleston, SC area?
Hi Paul, I can help in that I can tell you MUSC's MS program is a joke and you should avoid it if possible. It is also ridiculously expensive. I am now seeing Dr. Charles Kelly at Tidewater Neurology. I like him, but his staff and office hours leave something to be desired. They have very limited of...

What do you do when you have a flare up?
I am lucky enough that I have not had any flare-ups since those involved with my initial diagnosis. During the first several months, anytime I noticed something weird, like tingling or numbness, or something off with my vision, I would mention to my doctor and ask if it was a flare up. His response ...

Any doctor recommendations in the Charleston, SC area?
I'm new in town and looking for a new neurologist. Anyone have any recommendations? I went to MUSC's "MS Clinic" and the doctor I saw there left A LOT to be desired. He didn't anything about Betaseron, it's side effects, didn't really give a thorough exam....he even broke the skin and made...

Re: How do you get Betaseron without insurance?
Honestly, I'm not sure because I haven't requested the paperwork. I'll officially be off the insurance that covers the drugs July 1, so I will ask for the paperwork then. I haven't considered LDN before. I am totally symptom free. I've basically just done what the doctor recommended since I got diag...

How do you get Betaseron without insurance?
Our household income exceeds the income requirements for the patient assistance programs. Are there any other options besides paying the full amount out of pocket? The meds would still cost more than a 1/3 of what we make!

Re: Betaseron overseas?
Thanks for my response! It's been a while since I posted that and since posting, I've figured out the only solution is to carry it with me. I was able to get my insurance company to give me a 6 month override, so I'll be set for a while. I've done a lot of research and everything shows that it is il...

Re: Getting MS Drugs in Europe
Hi JG, Thanks for the response...after all the research I've done the best thing is for me to just take enough for the whole trip. Even though we'll have to take an extra bag, at least our load will get lighter as we go! The best thing is that I actually CAN go :) Definitely taking advantage of ever...

Getting MS Drugs in Europe
Hi, I'm going to be traveling for 4-6 months in Europe and am having a really hard time finding a way to get my Betaseron while I'm traveling. Here is what I've done so far: Called Betaplus Program and Bayer directly. Both suggested I have a family member ship the medication Called UPS, USPS and Fed...

Re: Travel plans and an unexpected flare
I would definitely go! Don't let MS keep you from living your life. Worse case scenario, you have to fly back earlier than you thought, but even if you had a relapse while traveling...maybe you just lay low in the hotel after seeing the doctor. Go, go go! Regarding travel insurance, I'm in the marke...

Betaseron overseas?
Has anyone living in the US ever had to order Betaseron while traveling overseas? If so, how did you get it in another country? Is it cheaper in Europe? I called Betaseron and they said they only thing to do would be to have it shipped to someone in the US and they can personally ship it to wherever...
