Re: CCSVI, cause or symptom?
A couple of weeks ago I was given a steroid shot into my jaw to help relax the muscles and deal with inflammation on my TMJD side. Within a couple of days I could walk straighter because my balance was much better and I could see better, less problems with depth perception. The neuralgic pain in my ...

Atlas/TMJ treatment with Dr M Amir to negate CCSVI treatment
I have started this thread to detail my treatment with Dr Amir over the coming months. Some may already know my story but to recap I do not have an MS diagnosis. I was initially diagnosed with ME/CFS in 2007 due to increasing fatigue, IBS and brain fog. Through 2008 my health deteriorated rapidly wi...

Re: AtlasBalance (jaw misalignment) Dr M Amir - Putney Londo
Blossom/EJC - thanks for the encouragement, I am glad it'll be of use, I shall start a new thread shortly on the topic. I never really know exactly where to put my posts because I don't have MS (currently...!) but feel my story could be a useful 'cross-over' between certain conditions. Nigel - many ...

Re: AtlasBalance (jaw misalignment) Dr M Amir - Putney Londo
I just wanted to make a post to say I had a lengthy and interesting appointment with Dr Amir yesterday. As you can see my from signature under my post I do not have MS but have been previously given a diagnosis of CCSVI by two clinics. I have not as yet had treatment for the CCSVI. I have symptoms t...

Interestingly I get this worst when my thyroid levels are too low, as does my mum (also hypothyroid). Do you mean a sort of state of semi-conscienciousness where you feel like you are awake and but your body won't move or respond? I have read that this occurs because the chemicals used to keep you f...

Members from the US could perhaps try looking at Dr Stack's work with TMJ disorder - he's working on the connection with Tourette's Syndrome, Parkinson's and various movement disorders:

Erika,
Just wondering what type of anticoagulation therapy you had after your procedure and you do you still take anything?

Re: Could a defective vasculature and aberrant VEGF...
Thanks for the links - very interesting! I was kinda wondering if his continued success is in part helped out by the longer term Pradaxa. I've been taking 150mg aspirin (for daily headache/migraine) for about 8 months now and my ESR has finally dropped after steadily rising for a number of years. I'...

Re: Could a defective vasculature and aberrant VEGF...
Interesting - really pleased to hear he's doing so well.
I wonder if Pradaxa has any anti-inflammatory properties to it, like aspirin does etc?
Did he ever get checked for Hughes/APS after his MS diagnosis?

Re: Dr. Zamboni-"Please wait to be treated"
Dr. Sclafani it is my understanding that an increase in blood flow to the brain is the primary goal of treatement so would this also apply to people without MS? I would encourage you and Mr. Zamboni, in order to maintain an optimal level of health, to get angioplasty preformed on the veins in your ...

Re: Ever been asked to strip to your underwear for a Neuro E
Yes, I have been asked to strip for a neuro exam - it didn't really bother me too much because of the nature of my symptoms I felt I was being more carefully and thoroughly examined at that time, plus I liked the neuro so didn't see anything wrong in it. I've also had to strip for a rheumatology exa...

Re: Transient Global Amnesia and Valves / CCSVI
Well in many ways it has to be something of a similar nature doesn't it, if one of the theories for TGA is the blood refluxing back up into the brain for a short period of time then CCSVI is the same thing but the blood doesn't make it all the way out of the IJVs before washing back again. Only with...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Does it not go that if you have one hypoplastic vein as long as the *other* one is working well, there is no problem? Just wondering for myself as my neuro told me on my original MRV (brain only of course) that my left side all looked strong so that's fine and the right side won't be causing my symp...

Re: How fast can collateral veins grow ?
I would have thought so - my MIL got a clot near her ankle earlier this year (she has pancreatic cancer, apparently this is common) and at her last U/S about 2 months ago they told her collaterals had grown in place - a lot of the redness and heat she experienced in that area has subsided. This has ...
