Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
actually the guidewire in figure 8 goes from the left internal jugular vein across the sinuses and down into the right internal jugular vein. That caused me some confusion. The guidewire goes through both transverse sinuses, doesn't it? Yet, the blood refuses to go down the right one. Maybe, reliev...

-RIJV seems squeezed right beneath the skull (fig.3,4). -figs 2,6 are quite the same though the dye comes from different veins. Difficult flow through LIJV? -fig 5 indicates elongated valve or collarbone compression? -What is the highlighted part in figs 3,7? -fig 9: the wire fills all available spa...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Hi Dr S, everybody.
Regarding the earlier thrombosis case, would a neck collar make any difference? Could it eliminate the phasic stenoses that are due to neck movements? At least for the first week after the procedure?

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Dear doctor, how good is angiography in visualising the confuence of sinuses? Is MRV better? I ask this because, as i understand it, Dr Schelling considers the patency of the confuence critical in the ability of the jugular veins to be used as natural alternative flow path of each other. I find it p...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Since IVUS revealed no thickening of the valves, what was the nature of these problems? Local hypoplasia on the right, valve fusion on the left? I guess this case provides evidence that CCSVI deteriorates with time. Which of these vein lesions do you think are congenital? Which could happen during l...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Dear Doctor, if i'm not mistaken the LIJV had two stents in a row and the compression was just above the lower one. Do you know why the first IR chose to use two stents? Do you think that the compression could be avoided if the stents overlapped at the crucial point? By ballooning inside a compresse...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Dr S, do you find LIJVs getting restenosed/thrombosed more frequently than RIJVs?

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Hi Dr S. An informative presentation as always. Why did the veins stayed open for more time after the first procedure in Bulgaria even though the balloons were smaller? Is there a chance that restenoses were as quick as after your first procedure, but the patient failed to feel them? Or was there so...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Great presentation Dr S! Dr. Brenda Banwell is doing an ultrasound study on children with MS. If early CCSVI is difficult to trace by venography, i suspect it will be even harder to do with ultrasound. Do you agree? To the questions: 1. but becamse exacerbation free while taking natalizumab (tysabri...

That's $1000 from 5000 families (or 1 year of fingolimod for 104 MS patients). Seems like it's time for e-fundraising.drsclafani wrote:I am ready now. All i need is about $5M.

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Further on the comments by Magoo and Cece, aggressive anti-CCSVI literature has arisen, which openly questions the existence of CCSVI as a pathological entity (CCSVI and MS: no meaning, no fact, Claudio Baracchini - Matteo Atzori - Paolo Gallo): "CCSVI appears to be a rather alien condition and...

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Dr S,
Sometimes, when a balloon is inflated inside a vein, two or more "indentations" are seen on each visible side of the balloon. This was seen in the RIJV of your latest case. Is this evidence of double-triple valves or something else?
