Re: The "Problem" with Vitamin D

I seem to have found a happy medium since 2011 when I was taking >10K a day of D3. I always know when I'm Mg deficient as I develop tension in my upper back muscles and calves. Summer I average about 4.5K IU a day D3 Winter I average about 6K IU a day D3 Plus I live in a sunny climate and eat a lot ...

Re: Anyone have a recipe for a good tasting healthy salad dr

I often use a dash of soy sauce mixed with olive oil (could alternatively use canola or Sunflower) which goes well on salads. Its also a good dressing for Brassicas (broccoli, kale, pake choy, cabbage) and beets (swiss chard, Spinach) that I eat tons of but struggle with due to the bland flavour.

Re: Recurrent Uhthoff's: Is there a progressive element?

My uthoffs is similar - it takes a very small increase in temperature to affect my vision. It also causes weakness in my legs. The nitric oxide link sounds interesting. Does anyone know of practical ways to reduce NO? Uric Acid scavenges peroxinitrite so Inosine maybe helpful as it raised serum uri...

Re: Multiple sclerosis striking youth in India, say doctors

I would suggest the causes are multiple and hazard a guess at the following There are many different theories as to the cause of MS. The big problem is that nobody has been able to prove ANY of them. And until that is done, there isn't much hope in trying to find anyting resembling a cure. Harry In...

Re: Multiple sclerosis striking youth in India, say doctors

I would suggest the causes are multiple and hazard a guess at the following; Increased availability of sanitary coveniences reducing prevalence of parasites like hookworm Increased treatment of hookworm in children Reduced UV exposure as more children in school / industrialisation brings more adults...

Re: diagnosed early yesterday morning

In addition Id cut out any artifical sweeteners - aspartame breaks down into methanol in the bloodstream (gee thanks Mr Rumsfeld). Methanol is a neurotoxin with symptoms that mimic MS. Also quit smoking this will reduce exposure to both methanol and formaldehyde in cigarette smoke plus all the other...

Re: High protein diet and Uric acid - just a shot in the dar

I take 500mg of Inosine as part of a general regimen. If I feel symptomy I take 1000mg. 2.5 years down the track no relapses and reasonably well.

Taking a supplement probably cheaper and healthier than high protein diet to achieve high UA status.

Re: Parasites for MS - University of Wisconsin

I have been on hookworm therapy for past 26 months and have dropped Rebif (9 months ago).

I now have virtually no symptoms other than occasional buzzing in left foot and slight blurring in left eye. Rebif almost killed me.

Species - Necator Americanus Hookworm cant multiply inside you so cannot see a direct risk from immunosupressants other than if they cause an infection in the gut at their feeding sites. Only significant risk is malnutrition that occurs in heavy infestations which is avoided by giving a controlled d...

Re: MS researchers infect patients with hookworms

I've often wondered, since these are live parasites with a will of their own, what keeps them from infesting organs where you'd rather not have them, e.g., lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, brain, etc? The hookworm travels by design to the gut where it remains for the rest of its life. If the occasiona...

Re: MS researchers infect patients with hookworms

People with MS are taking part in a new research trial by being infected with hookworms. Researchers at Nottingham's Queen Medical Centre are looking at how the worms can affect the immune system of people living with the illness........ Re: Inosine and neural growth

Hi Liberation, I haven't thought of Inosine, or anything I'm trying against MS, as more than a rear guard defensive action. If we gain an extra year or three or five of better health than we would without it, that helps. I'm putting together as many of these 'little steps' as I can, hoping to combi...
