Re: Does this aching pain ever go away?
Doesn’t actually reference what disease it is. May be a weird copy paste routine they do across many such boards

Re: When to stop
Scott1 - The dizziness is pretty bad indoors, right now especially. I feel more at balance walking with my eyes closed (not exactly doable obviously). I think an allergen specialist is a great idea, I haven’t seen one before. My eyes are extremely dry and a bit puffy as well right now too for whatev...

Snoopy - Thanks for the reply. As an aside, are you the same Snoopy from MSworld? I enjoy your calm perspective on things. I have a well known case of GAD, which I acknowledge and why I run things by other people (like this forum) to try and understand when I’ve gone past realistic measures. I do se...

Re: When to stop
"Diet is... terrible. I eat anything." You might want to reconsider this given your health issues, although my brother who also has MS follows your diet and is doing fantastic... No one really knows if diet even helps and which one is the best... Yeah, it’s a real crap shoot. There’s heal...

Re: When to stop
Thanks for the quick responses I’ve had more blood drawn from my body in the past several years than i can remember. Tests from typical blood panels to extremely rare, specialized tests. My Vitamin D is low (sits around 38). Nothing else sticks out (magnesium, B12, thyroid, gluten, ANA, etc.). Diet ...

When to stop
I’ve been undiagnosed for a while. Had an ‘attack’ of some kind in late 2010, with visual symptoms, numbness, and muscle twitches. Went to a neurologist, who ordered MRI of brain and C spine (no contrast). Was normal. Kicked around for a year trying to get my eyes fixed with no success, and in late ...

I'm interested in ongoing trials for masitinib, mostly known for ALS but also for PPMS

Re: THERE IS NO MONEY IN THE CURE!
I work for a pharmaceutical company. I have been involved in the actual drug production process, have seen similar drugs to these made and are GENERALLY aware of the research and decisions made in terms of business. I totally reject the 'curespiracy'. Pharmaceutical companies are not squirreling awa...

Re: MS: A Functional Disorder
Another thought that occurred to me. People with MS are known to have an elevated ACE level (more typically associated in people with sarcoidosis). The high ACE level is indicator of a problem with the renin-angiotensin system which regulates fluid movement within the body (this is my low level unde...

Re: MS: A Functional Disorder
I definitely want to look into this later when I have more time. This is one of the most encompassing theories I've read and it really hits home, especially knowing how poor the circulation of my own fluids are. I wonder if the chronic dehydration problems of PwMS play into this at all. Thank you fo...

Re: Study claims long duration of MS......
This is one of those things that frazzles your brain if you think about it too hard. So apparently about 15 years from now I should be reaching my expiration date. But most people with MS have life expectancy only 6-10 shorter than average. But if I make it that far I'll probably be a vegetable. Exc...

Re: New MS factor found
Well this is interesting anyway. This GM CSF thing could be an effect rather than a cause but hopefully this will lead somewhere.
Re: Vitamin D
Not to highjack this thread, but I had a separate question on Vitamin D and didn't want to clutter up the board... Should D3 dosage change in the Summer at all? I'm outside a lot more and getting more sun and I know that this is a big Vitamin D boost, does it mean I should use less of the capsules? ...

It's pretty difficult to say there are clear benefits when just a few topics down you have.... http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic26181.html ...and... http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic26232.html There are up-sides and down-sides (and a whole lot of just ...

Re: Optic Neuritis - how long to recover?
I'm not sure if it's the same, but my eyes are best described by this: http://eyeonvision.org/visual-snow.html http://neuronresearch.net/vision/clinical/snowyvision.htm My eyes have been like this for about 5 years. Not expecting them to suddenly magically be normal again... this is pretty much it. ...
