Re: My Wife May Have MS

My thoughts are with you. You said that she has had constipation, this means her digestion is suffering for some reason. Also she is weak and unwell right now which means even less energy to digest. Make her nutritious restorative food right now, cut the oil, spice, sugar, caffeine and refined white...

Re: I can't believe how good linseed makes me feel!

You can buy them from supermarkets and health food stores. They are cheap amd I don't think it matters whether they are golden or brown. The fresher the better so vacuum packed is good. The taste does vary so try a few. And yes, soak overnight and chew them in the morning, I find a 3-4 teaspoons is ...

Re: Update: Inability to taste for 2 months... now fine.

Hang in there! I changed my whole diet after that bout and up to this point...touch wood! I have been feeling fine in fact better. Basically avoiding all the inflammatry foods...however I haven't surrended my morning coffee. Nobody else was offering a solution and I thought that it was at least some...

Re: Update: Inability to taste for 2 months... now fine.

Hey IceSkate, Vent all you like it's so frustrating to be wondering if there is something seriously wrong with you and have to wait months to see a specialist. I don't know what the situation is where you are but when I did finally get to see a neuro there was then a further 6 week wait for a MRI. C...

Re: MS Symptoms???

It has done with me, I had double vision with my first attack and the degree of it fluctuated wildly through the day. It was Christmas time for me too and it is hard time to experience sudden ill health. I found the most effective thing to do was rest, I had 2 weeks off work, I hope you have some ti...

Re: MS Symptoms???

Stress makes all of my symptoms worse and right now you are having to come to grips with a scary situation. Imagine how many people you know get diagnosed with diabetes and go "oh yeah I have diabetes" it can make you go blind, have limbs amputated and make you die early but is treated wit...

Re: MS Symptoms???

What were your B12 results? There is increasingly evidence that "low normal range" can result in neurological symptoms. Take really good care of yourself right now as this stress of not knowing impacts on you physically.

Re: Does it sound like MS?

Hi Sola as you have probably worked out by now there is no definitive test for MS and as there are a lot of other conditions that present in the same way the diagnosis is a process of elimination of all other possible causes . It means a lengthy period of time waiting and wondering what is really wr...

Re: MS or Celiac or B12 deficiency?

Seems like there are a lot of that type of neurologists around! Sorry you got to experience one. It definitely sounds like you are eating something your body doesn't like but don't bother talking diet with your neurologist it's the equivelant of talking about voodoo! A lot of MS sufferers find their...

Re: Symptoms

Have you had your B12 tested? It is an inexpensive test and could cause all of those symptoms and if this is what is causing your symptoms the sooner you know the better as it is treatable.

Re: Update: Inability to taste for 2 months... now fine.

Just thought I would post as I lost my sense of taste for about two months last year and at the time I could find very little information relating to it. One day a numbness crept down one side of my head and my sense of taste disappeared. I had a vague perception of bitter, which meant that was all ...

Heart felt empathy

When I read your post my heart went out to you. I've been in the place that you are now. There is not much to say that will make it better as it takes some time to take it all in. Sounds like your fella has stuck with you for 10 years of not so good health already, maybe he just loves you regardless...

Temperature

Something to consider is the temperature of the water you drink, Ghandi said you should drink your food and chew your drink. Anything you place in your stomach you then have to use your energy to heat it up to body temperature to process. Also drink for the season, warming in Winter and Cooling in s...

doseage

4 teaspoons will make a difference, one source recommends 4 tablespoons...Thats a lot of chewing! A plus to the chewing is that it helps to retrain your brain to chew. Chewing is like a muscle memory, not a conscious activity, so a repeated morning session chewing slippery little seeds is a great st...

fructose/fructans

I work for a company that delivers meals to aged & disability, I don't know if it has become more common recently or they have just started testing for it. Demand for low fructose/fructan meals has taken off. The basic fact is that most peoples sugar (and salt) intake is through the roof. When y...
