Re: Getting Ready for not being sick

Largelumpyhead, your going the right way to get your MS diagnosis. Stress, Fear, Uncertainty, shit chemical food & corporate poisoning etc - Prob main Triggers but as usual docs claim to know sod all. MS was built around Hysteria. Re: Cannabis relieves some Multiple Sclerosis symptoms - stu

i cannot imagine inhaling any type of smoke is good for you, but if one is suffering from spasticity and this provides relief, then why not? vaporizing is also an alternative. http://www.maps.org/mmj/Gieringer-vaporizer.pdf and yes, you can certainly eat it. bottom line...exactly what civickiller sa...

Re: Anyone have Short Term Disability Insurance?

we just offered a new type of insurance that our insurance company was selling and by adding this they agreed to re-open our short term and long term to everyone. if you had a pre-existing condition like MS, you would have had to wait a year before you could use it. it was interesting to me...i was ...

Re: Please Help!!!!! Surgery question!!!!!!!!

a women my wife works with has implants due to a double mastectomy. at work the other day one broke and leaked "explosively" internally. obviously, not good. it seems like that is a relatively common issue.

women are more concerned about breast size then men are...

Re: First Copaxone Injection!

I just took my second injection and so far it isn't too much fun. I'm not sure I'm going to last having to do this daily. I was on avonex with the bigger needle etc, but it wasn't nearly as annoying. The description of a charlie horse is perfect after the initial burning sensation. Reducing a relaps...

Re: almostCLever Update

good for you! i totally agree with you that most likely many people have Lyme instead of MS. my former regular doc (unfortunately he took a job running a hospital...good for him) spent a couple hrs with me and a white board discussing Lyme. it is truly amazing how complex it is to diagnose. i am so ...

Re: Hi, I'm new to forums but not MS

yes, many many ppl have ms and it seems to effect everyone differently. i was on avonex and it did not work. my neuro wanted me to try copaxone...which i am willing to give a shot and am in the process of switching. but, at the same time i have been eating whole foods and taking supplements all alon...

Re: Coldness?

i will add that my 'thermostat' is just a mess. sometimes i'm cold and most of the time i'm hot. pre-MS i was always hot, but now i'm cool or cold when others are not. there seems to be no pattern to my temp fluxuations...my thermostat is just broken.

Lyme can look and act like MS apparently. Get that checked and make sure they do the Western Blot test.

Re: Hello to All and Question / Confirmation Regarding dx of

Mark - i disagree with you based on three dr's from the boston area that i've dealt with. of course it was based on my specific situation, but they prefer not to subject patients to a spinal unless absolutely necessary. it certainly is not a fun procedure to go thru as JL stated her experience. Thou...

Re: Hello to All and Question / Confirmation Regarding dx of

green - my advice is to follow what jlegs suggests and to definitely get a second and even third opinion before the spinal. starting with eating whole foods and proper supplements is good for people with and without ms, so that is an easy one. as far as ms, the diagnose comes with time unfortunately...

Re: Coming off Avonex after 8 years of use (!!)

I am going to try and be as healthy as I can be in terms of eating well, exercising etc.....but any other pointers for people living with MS who aren't on medication would be much appreciated! that pretty much sums it up imo. keep stress out of your life if at all possible, eat whole foods and get ...
