Re: Need Advice...

I wonder if the typical lesions seen in ms brains are just the result of mini strokes and many of us just don't happen to suffer one serious enough to get the label of a full blown stroke. I got my MS dx about a month before I had a very small stroke, and both neuros (MS & stroke specialists) were ...

Re: Should I stop taking copaxone -shots were exposed to +86

If the syringes were inside a few extra layers (of anything) it could have taken longer, but if the inside of the bag felt nearly as warm as the trunk I would call it spoiled after 10 minutes...

Re: Should I stop taking copaxone -shots were exposed to +86

The Copaxone injection guide says "may be stored at room temperature, between 59F and 86F, for up to 1 month."

86F might be right at the edge, but for anything less than several hours I would not worry at all...

...or you can try all kinds of less well proven things *while* you take your DMD of choice.

I BELIEVE IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE TO ADVISE PEOPLE WITH MS NOT TO TAKE A DMD.

Re: Does this sound like MS?

The primary causes of urogenic bladder are MS, Parkinsons, diabetes, spinal bifida or some type of spinal cord injury . So have you seen any kind of ortho since this started? I don't know why you are doubting your neuro about the past MRIs, but new sx that might have a spinal cause probably deserve...

I'll take my doctor's jargon (and science, in general) over your "empirical experience" any day of the week!

Steroids are always optional. They are mainly used to reduce the length of the symptoms and there's no guarantee they will even do that. I don't think anyone has ever shown that they reduce the duration...

Re: diagnosed early yesterday morning

i am not entirely confident in a diagnosis of MS, but the neurologist is. Definitely get a second opinion from an MS specialist (even if your 1st neuro is an MS specialist!) before you worry about meds/treatment. Your neuro should be happy to give you a referral -- if not, leave immediately and nev...

It is certainly not true that steroids "only work 3 times."

But it is true that there are good reasons for avoiding lots of steroids...

Re: Treatment options

How does it work? Do I choose what Med's to start taking or does the Neurologist choose for me Suiting my Situation. As noted, different neuros have completely different approaches, from dictator to "whatever!" Better neuros will help you understand the differences and also make a recommendation, e...

Re: Need Your Help : MULTIPLE RESTRICTION BANDS, CSF/SERUM

Neuro said MS is low on the list, but it is ridiculous that he would not identify to which o- band pattern my results fit under. See both links, it describes the patterns, just written slightly differently. So that is my question, because the neuro didn't answer it: Multiple Restrictive Bands in th...

Re: Need Your Help : MULTIPLE RESTRICTION BANDS, CSF/SERUM

When I received my spinal tap results, it came back with: MULTIPLE RESTRICTION BANDS IN BOTH CSF AND SERUM; CANNOT DETERMINE THE ORIGIN OF BANDS, CNS or SERUM. My understanding about bands & MS is that people with MS will usually (90%?) have more bands in the CSF than the serum (blood). Since the r...
