Re: My "regimen"

Even amazing lasting relationships can bring as much stress as happiness. Don’t worry about keeping up with the Jones, live your life for you. I was diagnosed a month afte...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

I have been on LDN about 7 months, I started at 3mg and jumped to 4.5mg after a month. I did not notice anything, much like taking a vitamin. I had 9 lesions when diagnosed in 2012 and 5 relapses in the 6 months that followed. I started Copaxone after the 4th and LDN after the 5th. I think i have ha...

Re: Single Calcitriol Dose Beats Back EAE in Mice

Vitamin D3 is cheap. Maybe the research are working on a form of vitamin D which they can sell us for a lot of money. They like to take things found in nature and get a patient on them. I fear that Want2Bike is the same individual as Eat2BWell on the SwankMSDiet forum who is constantly posting ridi...

Re: Newly diagnosed today

You can listen to the conspiracy theorists and the like, or you can take a chance on the best modern medicine currently has to offer. Unfortunately (in terms of quality of advice), you have posted in the land of conspiracy theorists and amateur scientists. There is nothing wrong with diets, etc., o...

Re: Testosterone

Very good point. Lowering estrogen is known to cause joint pain and can lead to issues long term. Most manufacturers dont suggest using an anti-aromitase product for longer than 8 weeks. I plan on stacking it with Cissus Quadrangularis and limiting to 4 to 6 weeks max. Again this is just a trial, if...

Testosterone

Testosterone in women with MS is significantly lower than a healthy subject. On the flip side of this too much testosterone in a female MS patient causes irreversible brain damage during a relapse. This is why it is thought that while men get MS less often they typically have a more progressive and ...

Re: Fecal microbiota transplantation

The MS patients were treated for bowel issues but they saw great improvement is there existing MS symptoms that were not related to the original issue. I don't think this therapy would be limited to bowel issue patients, though like all MS treatments its likely not a treatment that would help everyo...

Re: LDN and depression?

Might be worth looking at Baclofen for your spasms. Its a common drug and I am aware of many MSers on it. Also in regards to LDN and sleep you dont need to take it around bedtime. Many researchers are actually recommending it be taken in the morning for people with chronic fatigue or poor sleep qual...

Re: Starting Dose (4.5mg)

I did 3mg for a week before going up to 4.5mg. I didn't notice a difference. I have heard that if you have issues sleeping take it away from bedtime. There was a study done that proved there is no additional efficacy in taking it closer to sleep. I take it immeadiately before sleeping with my Copaxo...

Re: Need help in Vancouver, BC - please

My neurologist prescribed it for me after I brought him a handful of research papers on the subject. He works out of the Kelowna MS Clinic. I have heard naturalists are the best source for LDN prescriptions and I know of a few in Kamloops that prescribe the drug regularly so I am certain if you knoc...

Fecal microbiota transplantation

Its gross, no doubt, but the science behind "poop transplants" is starting to turn heads in the medical community. For MS it really speaks to the idea that gut bacteria makes a big difference in disease progression. "...Whilst using FMT (fecal microbiota transplantation) to treat ulcerative colitis ...

Re: Supplements, diet, and optic neuritis

Interesting that you posted resveratrol as it is frequently used by bodybuilders coming off of an anabolic steroid cycle. It helps to stabilize testosterone and lower aromatase an estrogen by-product of increased testosterone. I am a full believer in hormones playing a major part in MS as they are i...

Re: B vitamins

Be careful with supplementing B6. I had shown a list of supplements to my neuro and the only one he had an issue with was my B complex... he stated supplementing more than 100mg a day can lead to nerve damage over time.

My Regimen (ridiculous?)

UPDATED Regimen My story... lost feeling in my legs xmas 2011, was referred to a Neurologist who said it was probably the flu... no joke... lost feeling in my right hand April 5th 2012 the day my second son was born. Went back to Neuro and he sent me for MRI which showed 9 active lesions on brain an...
