New Hope for MS Web-conference audio file now online

If you didn't get a chance to listen to Tuesday's web-conference organized by Tim Donovan (New Hope for Multiple Sclerosis Cross-Canada Tour) that featured Dr. Sandy McDonald, Dr. Bill Code, Dr. Kirsty Duncan and others, the 60 minute audio file is now available on the New Hope for MS website: http:...

If someone can send me a link to the press release regarding the Manitoba announcement, I'll put it on my blog.

Many Questions

Yes, there are many questions, but the important point is that they are supporting it! Makes me proud to be a native Manitoban!

Yes, but...

Yes, the funding of procedures is a provincial matter, but if we get a national movement going AND we have federal support, no provincial government will have the guts to stand in the way. And the research should be a federal initiative anyway.

Tracking thread

Yes, I haven't read (or posted to) the tracking thread in months. But I do check the statistics on http://www.ccsvi-tracking.com pretty well every day. For the last few months the overall results have held quite steady: over 2/3 of people treated are seeing marked improvements (especially in fatigue...

Testimonials versus numbers

Testimonials are interesting, but there are a lot of them and it's easy to be led astray by stories that are more dramatic or story-tellers that tell their tales with more conviction. It's better to analyze the numbers on http://www.ccsvi-tracking.com because, even though these are self-reported and...

Lotsa good news

I was thinking as I got into this thread: Only a year ago many MSers (especially in the US) were angered because the CCSVI story was getting so little airplay, and every little media story was seen as a triumph (hence the reason for threads like this, I presume). Now the stories come so fast and fur...

Who is saying sorry?

Thank you for the CTV Edmonton story, Orion, but I'm somewhat confused. Darrel Gregory, a member of the Alberta chapter of the MSSC who apologizes for the Society's reaction to the CCSVI controversy, seems sincere in what he says. But is he truly speaking for the MS Society of Canada? If so, they ap...

Agree

I understand and mostly agree with what you are saying there, griff, but not what you said (or I thought you meant) in the earlier posting about EDSS being the only measure. By the way, I should have mentioned that there are other objective measures (particularly related to balance and strength) in ...

Only EDSS

EDSS as a sole or main measurement of MS severity was discredited a long time ago, so why should it suddenly be the only measure of improvement after any kind of treatment? That would be absolutely foolish, something that would be done only by a technician who has no real understanding of the great ...

Feds Announce New Monitoring System for Multiple Sclerosis

Oh goodie, thanks again to the Harper regime: http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/media/nr-rp/2011/2011_0323-eng.php . But why am I concerned that this monitoring system is going to be set up in collaboration with the MS Society of Canada and the Canadian Network of MS Clinics? Is it because I'm not convince...

Vote

I prefer to vote for the local candidate and not just on one issue, but for me there is already a lot to dislike about this current government (ethics, democratic deficiency, etc)... their attitude towards us is just the icing on the cake. In the latest news, it seems that the latest funding they ar...

Yup, still blogging... I try to keep up with what's going on during these exciting times and pass them on when I have the chance. Also am giving a hand to a local liberated fellow who's going on a cross-country tour to promote CCSVI treatment in Canada. He's getting great support from individuals an...

9th or 10th month

Orion, the numbers do seems to show a slide back for people in the 10th month (they were the same in their 9th month last month), but it's hard to say whether this is the actual case for most people, or is an artifact of the small numbers that have reached and are reporting 10 months of results? Not...
