I think the point of Bruce123's post is being missed: The problem is that there is the chance that they could damage the wall of the vein while doing the procedure and would need a stent to repair it. Sometimes during ballooning of a vein, it can rupture. And sometimes a stent is needed for repair ...

I thought blood clots can happen with venoplasty as well as with stents. ~HP Absolutely. Any sheer stress to the epithelial cells will activate the clotting factors. So this is just a matter of a degree - venoplasty (in my understanding) will in general impose relatively lesser degree of such stres...

There are two (at least the two that stood out for me, there are probably more) issues with stents: Yes, migration - I've read about what, 2-3 cases? Also - clot formation in / around the stent. I've seen this mentioned way more than migration. (No, I can not provide the links to where I read about ...

Are we all Lactose intolerant Adults of all mammals should be. Gordon, I don't know why you are raising this question, but as I understand it, YES. Children under 5 years are okay. Then we outgrow our ability to digest lactose. Yes. Most of us at least. If forced, body still can produce lactase (th...

Re: No Correlation Between Lyme and CCSVI
. However, MS and Lyme are not correlated and must be diagnosed and treated as two diseases. I disagree. MS is not a disease per say. MS is a compilation of symptoms (scattered CNS lesions affecting various body functions). The causes of those symptoms can be Lyme, can be CCSVI, can be mercury pois...

Re: Under diagnosis is likely
I think that early adoptors could be under diagnosed rather than under treated. Well, they were IN my veins. It's not like I only had Doppler, I had full protocol, including the catheter venography. I did see that perfect flow through my jugulars on the venography CD. However catheter venography im...
