I have already gone through a CCSVI procedure. The article does not reflect my opinion about CCSVI, but I would like to see both sides of the coin.

Re: Researchers/Reviewers with Tunnel Vision

Prof Zamboni clearly sees CCSVI as part of the complex MS picture when he describes the multifactorial nature of MS. Calling CCSVI a syndrome is also important as syndromes are treated before the causes of the disease are understood. MarkW Hi Mark. I really like your posts as you seem to have a sci...

Why "CCSVI" is Surreal

It is an interesting article from the other side to initiate discussions: http://medicalmyths.wordpress.com/2009/11/24/the-zamboni-myth-ccsvi-surreal/ The Zamboni Myth: Why “CCSVI” is Surreal Posted by Colin Rose on November 24, 2009 “Sorcery, astrology, acupuncture, and many other moonshine notions...

Re: BCBS no longer covering CCSVI treatments

Just found out that BCBS is no longer covering CCSVI treatments. Wonder why that is the case? I would not be surprised. Insurance companies do business, so if they do not gain anything from it and the results of the treatment are not proven yet, then why would they do? In Europe, most of us insuran...

This thread was intended to start a discussion on the potential future effectiveness of angioplasty. Since, we did not have enough info on the angioplasty of IJV and azygos I posted an article on angioplasty of arteries for discussion. You have to accept the fact that many of us got into a worse con...

IRs are the guys in charge of the treatment its elf. I think this puts them first and foremost in terms of what we need and what's best for pwMS. For figuring out all the cascade of effects and what's been going on in our veins and brains, that takes the team of specialists across disciplines. I ag...

Thanks, Cat. I think you did an excellent job. It was very educating what you wrote about problems caused by CCSVI. I might be naiv, but I assume that most of the researchers and doctors are working with good intention on finding a cure for MS. Maybe one of the reasons why they are still oposing CCS...

The organ affected is the most important thing to consider. We are talking about the BRAIN ! CCSVI causes hypoxia. Hypoxia is smothering. Of course in CCSVI it is low level but it is still oxygen deprivation of the brain. Then combine it with other things that have been proven such as HYPO-Perfusio...

Since i think that most of the stenoses are valvular problems, i would suspect that the history of current treatment of stenosis is representative. However if valve stenosis is treated, then there is hope that we can improve restenosis rates in the long run because we may not need to stretch the no...

IRs have no experience with IJVs and azygos spoken like an IR yourself! I am getting very tired of baseless innuendo, accusations, and speculation from anonymous experts on this forum. I do have the choice not to read it and believe me, I am seriously considering it. http://ccsvi.org Sorry, 1eye if...

I consulted with an interventional radiologist who was confident he could repair my impaired venous outflow. Paging Dr. Facebook [/i] (also goes by Dr. Internet) I like confident doctors, but nowadays I am having second thoughts about it. It reminds me of the horse that went into the wall. The guy ...

Re: ccsvi

so, more research and ways of preventing vein damage etc. has just got to be solved. the path is there we know that. just more to consider than some of us realized. but, hopefully soon. that is what I think. IRs involved in CCSVI play down the risks associated with angioplasty. They know that angio...
