Re: Allergic reaction to Copaxone
...my Neuro says I "have no other choice" than to try to get back on Copaxone. If I say no I feel like I am giving up. Any suggestions would be helpful. You need to ask your neuro about why he doesn't think you should try any of the half dozen other MS DMDs. My neuro won't rx anything but...

I would try to see a physiatrist that specializes in spinal issues. There's a very real chance that your sx are the result of spinal problems that neuros don't know how to dx...Largelumpyhead wrote:I've had two clean MRI's and I feel like my Neurologist thinks I'm nuts.

Re: Hi
This is what I will be telling the Neuro about. Would love some opinions, its not scaring me after everything I have read, but I struggle with not knowing what the hell is going on! It does sound like you should see a neurologist, but the vision problems should be checked by an ophthalmologist. Neu...

Re: Does this sound like MS?
It's great that you have a physiatrist. Mine is the doc who determined that not all my sx were from disc trouble and sent me to my 1st neuro. I'd cc the physiatrist on the MRI results and make an appointment, myself (in addition to the neurologist). Interesting coincidence: lung cancer & metasta...

Re: Do you think this is MS?
It sounds like it *could* be MS, but it could quite easily be a 'mechanical' problem in your spine. If your PT involved manipulating your neck it could even have been the trigger (the 8 days makes it unlikely to be the direct cause). Have you seen your back doctor?grandma123 wrote:Does this sound like MS?

Re: need advice
Unfortunately, there are many possible causes for demyelination. There's a (probably incomplete) list in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demyelinating_diseaseScat89 wrote:I might agree with her if it wasn't for the heat intolerance, which seems to be a very specific symptom to demyelination.

Re: Advice: numb, tingling, burning pain in arms and legs.
Sorry about that....I meant to say "what are the most common symptoms?" Paresthesia, spasticity and cognitive impairment are the ones I hear about the most, but I don't know if anyone has actually collected that kind of data. I think the important thing is that a MS dx is essentially just...

Re: Advice: numb, tingling, burning pain in arms and legs.
How do I know if I should be worried about MS? I am not sure where to turn. I would greatly appreciate some advice. All of the symptoms associated with MS can occur for other reasons, so you really shouldn't be worrying about MS until the most common causes have been tested for and eliminated. Have...

Re: Changing diet - Beneficial or Not??
I believe that no matter if you have MS or not a good diet will improve your energy levels and increase your overall well being. Whether it has any effect at all on MS is open for debate but personally I have not seen any convincing evidence yet that shows eating a healthy diet slows down the progr...

Re: So many questions
I've had pain & numbness in my legs & feet for a few years now. My primary Dr finally sent me to a Neuro. She in turn did an MRI, which showed 8-9 lesions. Then she did a spinal tap which she said came back negative. Still she is very unsure what it is. She wants to treat me for MS starting...

Re: I've never been so scared in my life
I has a MRI scan and I was told that it revealed nothing. But I went to my GP today and he dropped the bomb on me that my next appointment on 18th of June is because it seems to them that I have MS. Realising what he'd just said he went on to try reassure me that nothing is concrete but looking at ...

Re: Hello to All and Question / Confirmation Regarding dx of
I have decided to get a second opinion before getting the spinal tap. I'm all in favor of getting as many opinions as you can afford (as long as you feel capable of 'filtering' them), but I can't think of a single reason to insist on getting a second opinion before getting a spinal tap. There is no...

Re: Monthly Treatment vs Orals
It all depends on how the safety/side effect data looks and whether I feel I've run out of more tested (and tolerable) options. I definitely wouldn't switch from Copaxone (every day, but absolute minimum side effects, for me) just to only have to shoot up once a month. And in general, I'd hesitate t...

Re: Quick Exacerbation Question
I would guess not. I've had only one known exacerbation, but my c-spine lesion is apparently the gift that keeps on giving. My 1st c-spine MRI wasn't until 15 months after the first sx, so I guess the lesion could have been 'growing' all that time, but to me it's just one long attack... My sx...
