Re: Tecfidera

So you're saying I made a good choice with Tecfidera?? What kinds of side effects did you experience with Avonex? I understand the side effects with Tecfidera are things like stomach upset and flushing.

Re: Baclofen and alcohol

I know Baclofen and alcohol aren't supposed to be taken together, but I wanted some opinions from "real" people who take it, instead of just hearing advice from doctors not to touch a drop of alcohol. My friend who has hereditary spastic paraplegia take 20-40 mg of Baclofen a day and she d...

Re: just diagnosed yesterday; my husband was diagnosed in Ma

Thanks for your response. I am wondering if both our disease courses started with some kind of environmental toxin? It is obviously entirely theoretical on my part, but it is something I have thought about... My symptoms started about 7 years ago and I had lesions then, but they were smaller than th...

Re: Muscle spasms

Put myself on 250 mg daily of magnesium. Hoping that will help with the muscle spasms. I am now also on D3, B12, and a multivitamin (which has even more magnesium--it is made by Centrum). My neurologist--an MS specialist who used to work at NIH--had me go in for an EMG and nerve conduction study las...

Baclofen and alcohol

Hi all. I am on 5 mg of Baclofen twice a day for muscle spasms (so 10 mg total per day). I have been told not to drink while on this drug because it can cause sleepiness, but I have a friend who takes it for hereditary spastic paraplegia and she said she has no problems at all drinking while on the ...

Tecfidera

Hi all. After first being diagnosed with clinically isolated syndrome back in June, my neurologist decided to change the diagnosis to RRMS yesterday, following the receipt of normal EMG and nerve conduction study results. He also took another closer look at my MRIs and decided that several lesions o...

just diagnosed yesterday; my husband was diagnosed in May

Hi all. I was just diagnosed with RRMS yesterday, and my husband was diagnosed in May. Just wondering if anyone else who has MS also has a spouse who has MS.

Re: EMG and nerve conduction study

My neurologist called me today. I've been diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis and he's going to put me on Tecfidera. Said the results of the EMG and nerve conduction study along with my symptoms and MRI results, which show older lesions and a new one (he's saying now that a couple ...

Re: Referred to a Movement Disorder Clinic

I have a friend who has hereditary spastic paraplegia. I don't know much about it but I do know that at first, the doctors though she had MS. It's pretty rare from what I understand.

Re: EMG and nerve conduction study

Thanks, Zyklon and Snoopy. The test results were normal... Guessing this will confirm their suspicion of early MS??

EMG and nerve conduction study

Hello. I had a nerve conduction study and EMG done yesterday. Still waiting for the results, but basically, I had these tests done because I have been having numbness and tingling along with spasms in (especially) my right leg. (I also get it in my left leg, but it's not as severe in my left leg as ...

Re: Muscle spasms

Felt really good yesterday--just a slight tightness in my right calf! It was amazing to feel almost "normal." No tingling in my legs, no real pain, etc. But this morning is a different story. Lots of symptoms again. I did walk a lot yesterday, though, and it's much hotter out today than it...

Re: Muscle spasms

Jimmy, you are correct... The amount in the multi is 100 mg, not mcg. Lol. Wow, Zyklon! I cannot even imagine not having tightness in my muscles after having it for the past 2+ months or so. Definitely looking into what you are doing! The last of my three-day Solu-Medrol infusion was today. Hoping t...

Re: what are infusions like?

Had my first infusion today. Took about 45 minutes or so. Not bad except I think the nurse hit a nerve in my hand and it hurt while I was getting the infusion as a result, and then after, too. It's still sore where she put the needle in. :( The report for the MRI of my thoracic came back... No lesio...
